Championship Day 2: Schindler Stare Down Unsuccessful

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 20: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

We got to the table with Jake Schindler facing a re-raise to 105,000 of his 50,000 raise pre-flop. Schindler was in the one seat, on the button, with his opponent to his immediate left, in the small blind, in the two seat. Schindler made the call and proceeded to lock in on his opponent without a care what the flop was, which turned out to be Th5d5s.

His opponent made a bet of 90,000 and Schindler finally glanced at the board. He made the call and again stared down his foe without looking at the 8h turn. Schindler’s opponent checked and the pro took a quick glance at the board and then put out a modest bet of 75,000. He was quickly called by his opponent.

The river was the 4d and once again Schindler glared at his opponent, who checked. Schindler continued to study his opponent and it wasn’t until about ten seconds had passed that he looked at what the river card was. He waited a few moments and then checked behind. His opponent showed a pair of queens and Schindler mucked his hand, left with approximately 320,000 in chips after losing that pot.

Championship Day 2: Tuthill Takes One Out

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 20: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

We didn’t catch the pre-flop action but David Tuthill and another player were all in with Tuthill having his opponent covered. Tuthill had AdKd and his opponent Ah3d.

The flop came As5c4d prompting Tuthill to say somewhat sarcastically “that’s a good start for me” as it gave his opponent four additional outs. None of those outs would come though as the turn was the 8s and the river was the 4c. Tuthill moved to 350,000 in chips with that pot.

Championship Day 2: Ravi Raghavan Triples Up, Final Level Underway

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 19: 4,000/8,000/1,000 Ante

On the last hand of Level 19, Ravi Raghavan had his chips in the middle and had to face down two callers.  Raghavan flipped over 4c4s and ironically had to survive a race with not one but two A-Q’s.

Raghavan had the lead and with the dual hands was in great shape.  The hand got more interesting with a flop of JcKs8c opening the doors wider to a possible elimination but the 4d showed up giving Ravi the set.  He surived a 5s on the river and tripled up his short stack to 234,000.

With that, we head into the final level of the night with 119 players still playing the $1,000,000 first place prize and their name on the WPT Champions Cup.
