Event 2: Kevin Spires Bubbles

$300 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 3,000/6,000

The log jam in Event 2 has been cleared and it was Kevin Spires who left without any official money from the prize pool. His crucial hand was doubling up David White when his KcQsTc9d starting behind AcAhTs6c and never caught up.

There was a brief time where it looked like White was not paid the correct amount but it was fixed and Spires was all-in shortly afterwards.

He had just over a pot-sized bet and got them all-in against John Brennan.

Brennan: Kc7s6s4h
Spires: AsQdJcTc

Brennan hit the 9s4d2h flop and Spires was unable to pair his big cards on the 5s turn or 5h river. He leaves with out a payout ticket but the players decided on a small save for the bubble.

Event 2: David White More Than Doubles

$300 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 2,000/4,000

David White was getting short and found a good hand to get back in the game. He opened for a pot-sized bet with Kevin Spires and John Brennan coming along to the Td8c3c flop.

After Brennan checked, White put in his last 9,500 and Spires moved-all over the top. Brennan seemed unhappy with the move and asked the floor staff how they handled it if two players went out on the same hand on the bubble.

“Most chips to start the hand,” as “Country”s reply.

Brennan folded before White showed AsAc9h4h ahead of Spires’ KhKs9s4d.

The turn and river blanked QsTh to give White more than a double.

Event 2: Turtle Crawl

$300 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 15: 2,000/4,000

After blasting down from 10 players to the money bubble, the seven remaining players slowed down to buck the usual post-dinner madness and went the entire first level back with only one all-in called.

That ended with Ken Bruno and David White chopping a pot with Aces for an anticlimactic hand.

Blinds are up but might be in for the long haul but the average stack is now holding just over 20 big blinds.

Event 1: Checking in on Flight B

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: Blinds 150/300/25 ante

While we focus on the Event 2 Pot Limit Omaha final table, Flight B of Event 1 has built up to 225 entrants as they head off on their firs break.

A quick walk through the field found some Seminole Hard Rock poker regulars including Robert Campbell, Paula Barros, Michael Ortiz, and former WPT Player of the Year Mukul Pahuja.

Event 2: Dinner Break on the Bubble

$300 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)
Level 13: Blinds 1,200/2,400

There was no slowing down the final table even with the money bubble approaching.

It was three-handed to the 6c4h2h flop with Marc Kropf (Miami, FL) already all-in when Bruce Freedman (Plantation, FL) also moved all-in. Ken Bruno (Lake Worth, FL) had them both covered and called to put them both at risk.

Bruno: AcAhTc2c
Freedman: KcKh3d2s
Kropf: QsJhJd4s

“I thought I had the nuts,” Freedman stated incorrectly.

The turn/river finished 8dTh to send the entire pot to Bruno, knock two players out, and put the tournament on the money bubble.

The remaining six players are off on a quick, 30-minute dinner break before returning to find a champion.

Event 2: Final Table Time

$300 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry)

Level 13:  Blinds 1,200/2,400

They reached the final ten players, then drew for seats and moved to the final table.  Soon after play resumed, Zack Milchman (Del Ray, FL) got his short-stack in against Ken Bruno and was busted, bringing them down to nine players.  Only the final six will get paid, so there’s still a ways to go.

Here are the final 9 with rough chip counts:

Seat  Player  (Hometown)  Chips

  1. Bruce Freedman (Plantation, FL) 24k
  2. Don Todd (Davie, FL) 35k
  3. Matthew Lombardi (Long Island, NY) 180k
  4. Joey Prosper (Miami, FL) 58k
  5. John Brennan (Parrish, FL) 152k
  6. David White (Boca Raton, FL) 40k
  7. Ken Bruno (Lake Worth, FL) 64k
  8. Marc Kropf (Miami, FL) 35k
  9. Kevin Spires (W Palm Beach, FL)  88k

Average stack is ~73k.

They’ll finish level 13, then take a dinner break.

Event 1: Flight A Going in the Bag

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14:  Blinds 1,200/2,400/400 ante

Flight A of Event 1 has come to a close as players get the last four hands out of the way. Unofficially there are 65 players surviving from the starting of the 336 who started.

Nissin Vaknin appears to be the end of flight leader but we will have all the numbers once staff have them crunched. Among those 65 survives were Tristan Wade, Angel Vu, and Errol Massey but Marsha Wolak and Zach Kessler will have to wait for another shot.
