Registration closed with 491 entries (unofficial).  That makes the total number of entries (unofficially) 2,156 for an (unofficial) total prize pool of $258,720, crushing the $150,000 guarantee.

Level 16: Blinds 2k/4k/500 ante

Playing Hold’em:

Robert Campbell was all-in pre-flop for 7,500 and got called by both blinds, who checked down the board of .  Brad Young (bb) showed for the nut-low-flush to take the pot.  Robert held A9 offsuit with no heart at all.

Robert Campbell busted out in 5th place, earning $1,512.

The survivors have bagged their chips up and headed for the door.  They will return at 1pm Wednesday for the finale.  Once we have a complete list of chip counts, they will be posted in the blog.

Near the end, Angel Vu was all-in with and in bad shape against pocket Aces.  The board ran out J T 9 Q 8 giving Angel a straight and the double-up.  After firing 6 bullets in this event, she has finally made it to Day 2.

Oktay Altinbas (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) was down to only 300 chips early in the flight when his open-ender failed to complete against a pair.  He managed to build those 3 black chips up to 190k by the end of the night, so he will also advance to Day 2.

About 55 players made it to the end of Flight E.  Travis Lutes (Crawford, IN) was the chip leader with 268,500.

Level 15:  Blinds 1,500/3,000/500 ante

As they were approaching the end of the day, which occurs with about 15 minutes remaining in level 15, a couple of big stacks began to emerge.

Barbaro Diaz (Cuba) was the clear chip leader before the blinds went up for the final time.  He was up to ~300k.

Michael Merisier (Plantation, FL) was stacking about 230k.  He owns a home-based business and is a regular player here at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.

Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 ante

Gregg Fund (pictured above) was all in on a PLO hand on the cutoff with and Kevin Ho just had him covered with a stack worth 95,000 holding on the big blind. The final board read and Fund was eliminated on the hand in sixth place, good for $1,296. Ho stacked up close to 200,000 after the hand.

In the rare No Limit Hold’em hand that saw an all-in pot in this event it was Robert Campbell who had his tournament life on the line with for 14,100. Kevin Ho had him covered with in the hole and the final board was dealt .  Campbell doubled up to survive with over 30,000 thanks to a flush.

Players are dropping fast as the end of the night looms.  They’re gambling it up to try to accumulate some chips to bag or bust out and try again in Flight F.
