Event 10 Day 1B: First Break

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 100/200

Players are off on their first break of the day and the board is showing 254 entrants so far with 10 minutes left to register plus a healthy line of alternates waiting to get checked in.

Players also had the option of surrendering their stack to the dealer and re-entering the tournament for a fresh stack. We just saw the first instance of this happening as the 5-seat at Table 41 lost a big one on the final hand of the level with turned two-pair versus a rivered straight. He was still left with 12,000 but opted to pay 350 for a full stack.

Official numbers coming after the break.

Event 10 Day 1D: Half the Deck

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 75/150

A big hand was underway downstairs waiting for the 4-seat to make a decision after the 9-seat had moved all-in on the QcJd4c flop. She finally made the call and had him covered with 9d9h and her opponent rolled over KcTc.

“Best I could hope for,” he said matter-of-factly, “Half the deck is good for me.” But he was prepared, already pulling out cash for a re-entry. Not really half the deck but he had a big draw with 19 outs twice.

His hand improved on each street when he hit the 9s on the turn but now had to dodge a paired board. The 2c hit the river to end the hand and the 4-seat grabbed her hoodie to hit the cage for her re-entry instead of his.

The board is showing 219 entrants in the tournament with one more level of late registration and re-entry. The field should pass the 232 entrants from Day 1B before Level 5.

Event 10 Day 1D: Big Field

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 50/100

All early indications are Day 1D will be the biggest opening flight of the event with 150 entrants registered before the end of Level 1. Day 1B drew 232 entries but the players are coming out on a pleasant late morning Saturday to play some deep stack poker.

The players began with 20,000 stacks and 30-minute levels. The flight will last 14 full levels with the remaining players coming back on Sunday for Day 2 and a chance at the title.

Tables are running upstairs with overflow down in the cash game area. We are working to track down early big stacks and names.

Event 10 Day 1D: Final Day

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 25/50

The final starting day of Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” Event 10 is underway. Three flights are in the books of this $350 buy-in $250,000 Guarantee tournament and 595 entrants have already put their money in the pool. Of those starting 595, an even 100 players have survived with chips to make it into Day 2 on Sunday.

Marvin Young built an impressive 488,000 chip stack late in Day 1A and continues to lead with the end of Day 1B (Russell Dohan) and 1C (Ralph Campbell) leaders not far behind.

Today provides the final two opportunities to get a piece of the big money. Day 1D is now running with late registration through Level 4 plus players can re-enter if they are eliminated during that time. Day 1E will kickoff this evening at 7pm and should draw a nice crowd on a Saturday evening to juice up the action.

We will be here all day bringing live coverage along the way during the final two flight.

Event 10 Day 1C: Tricky, Tricky

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 500/1K Ante 100

There was a limper for 1K and the player in Seat 7 made it 3.2K to go. Seat 2 was on the button and made it 9K to go. The original limper folded and Seat 7 made the call. The flop came Kd5h3s and Seat 7 checked. He had 19.1K behind. Seat 2 said “I’m all in” and Seat 7 couldn’t beat him into the pot any faster as he had pocket Kings. Seat 2 could only shake his head as he turned over Queens and acknowledged his opponents tricky play by saying “nice play”.

Aces were all in at two separate tables. At the first one, they held up against 7-6 suited on a 9-6-2-8 board when the river was another 2. The other pair of Aces was not as fortunate as they got it all on a Q-T-2-J board and were behind the Q-J his opponent held. An ace, ten, or two would have saved him but it was a 6 and the two pair was good enough to eliminate the player with Aces.

There are 72 players remaining as we approach the end of Level 10.
