We are done for the day here at Event 6. Jason Becher went out in 14th place for $304 when he moved all in with J-T and was called by Andrew Frier with A-9. Frier’s hand held and a few minutes later the players bagged and tagged. Frier is the end of day chip leader with 212,000. He is followed closely by Norman Guigui who has 202,500. Rounding out the top three is Arthur Rodriguez with 158,000.

Here are the remaining thirteen players (a few names were hard to read and thus might be inaccurate) and their seating assignments and chip counts. Play will resume at 1 p.m.

Event 6: Faking Tilt Can Backfire

$120 + $30 No Limit Hold ‘Em

Blinds 2K/4K Ante 500

Wayne Luggery was steaming. He wasn’t happy about having to come back tomorrow to play, thinking that this was a one day event. He’d just lost a decent sized pot and was faced with a raise from Paul Stanechewski. “I’m all in,” he said, tossing his chips into the middle as if they were already going to Paul. “Don’t have to worry about coming back tomorrow,” he added. Stanechewski, thinking he was tilting, made the call with Kd7d. Luggery had pocket 9’s. The flop came 7 high giving Stanechewski a pair but he was still behind Wayne’s pair. The turn was a brick. The king on the river, however, gave Stanechewski two pair and had Luggery fuming even more.

There are 14 players remaining with about 25 minutes left to play for the day.

Event 6: Big Tipper?

$120 + $30 No Limit Hold ‘Em

Blinds 1.2K/2.4K Ante 400

The winner of Event 4, Norbert Kara, went out in 20th place when he took a short stack and A-9 against A-7 and his opponent hit a 7. A few moments later, Norman Guigui got it all in with another player holding pocket 10’s. His opponent held A-Q. The flop came A-T-T giving Norman a stranglehold on the hand. No miraculous running aces and we were down to two tables, 18 players. The eliminated player walked off and the floor yelled at him to come get his payout ticket. “Keep it,” he yelled back. The floor said he couldn’t leading to a “consider it a tip” response. The floor asked him to sign for it and as he was heading down the stairs he responded “I’m not signing for it.” And out the door he went…

Event 6: 22 remain

$120 + $30 No Limit Hold ‘Em

Blinds 1K/2K Ante 300

There were two women left in the tournament, seated next to one another. The bigger stack of the two, Regette Duvdivani, raised first to act to 5.5K.  The woman to her immediate left, Jody Davis, moved all in for approximately 20K more. Regette counted out the calling chips and looked at how much she would have left… approximately 30K. She grabbed the stack of calling chips and placed them into the center of the table, and turned over pocket 4’s. Jody didn’t seem to realize that she needed to turn over her cards and the dealer had to instruct her to do so. She held A-J. The flop was a beautiful one for Davis as it contained two aces giving her trips. Much to her chagrin, however, was the third card that was revealed. A 4, giving Duvdivani a full house. The turn was a 5 and the river was a 3 and Regette clapped her hands, and then quickly apologized to Jody who quickly headed off to collect her 23rd place payout. Unfortunately for Regette, she would soon be joining Davis as she busted moments later.

21 remain with 15 minutes left in Level 13.

Event 6: Five Tables Remain

$120 + $30 No Limit Hold ‘Em

Blinds 500/1K Ante 100

Players are dropping at a quick pace – three in the last five minutes. One player made the mistake of calling off all of his chips after he four bet all in by a woman in the one seat with pocket jacks. He was of course crushed as she held kings. Other eliminations saw 8’s go up against Kings with no success and A-9 take on A-J with the Jack playing. Not everyone is busting out on races though as one short stack was able to survive when his A-K hit to best another player’s pocket jacks.

45 players remain. We are 18 players from making the money.

Event 6: Justice!

$120 + $30 No Limit Hold ‘Em

Blinds 300/600 Ante 75

A short stacked Garren James moved all in first to act and before the action was closed we had three players all in. The cards were turned over – James had KcJs and the other two players had pocket 10’s and pocket 8’s. The flop was a good one for James QdJh4c and when the Ks on the turn gave him two pair it looked like he was going to triple up and survive. As is often the case though, the river was a cruel mistress… the As giving the player with pocket 10’s a straight and eliminating James.

The players are now on a 15 minute color up break and will be returning to blinds of 400/800 with a 100 ante. There are 58 players remaining.
