Michael Laufer
Every series kicks off with a big multi-flight tournament to set the tone. The fields are massive, and the payouts are impressive for the buy-in amount. It takes a lot of talent and a fair share of luck to get through and take home that trophy.
We have two players in today’s field who managed that feat. Michael Laufer topped a field of 6,196 entries (the biggest tournament in state history at the time) to take home $160,734.
Scott Woodring is the defending champ of this very event. He outlasted the 4,535-entry field in Event 1 of the 2023 LHPO series for a payday worth $190,939.
$1,100 Deep Stack 5-Card PLO (Re-Entry) Structure Level 1: 100/100 with a 100 ante
The Grand Ballroom is going to be packed today, mostly with Event 1 players but we’ll get a fair share for Event 9 at 11 am. The bigger buy-in is an $1,100 Deep Stack Five-Card Pot-Limit Omaha tournament that will fuel a ton of action.
Players will start with 20K deep stacks, and all levels last 30 minutes for the one-day tournament. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm and they have a 45-minute dinner break at 5:30 pm.
Players begin with 20,000 in chips

This is a one-day tournament and plays until completion
$600 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 2: 100/100 with a 100 ante Flight E Entries: 275
Caleb Piderit
The entry count jumped during the first level as players make their way to the Grand Ballroom on a fine Saturday morning. There’s plenty of time to grab breakfast first with registration open until 2:30 pm.
A few early friends include Caleb Piderit, Frank Russo, Nancy Birnbaum, George Dolofan, Paul Domb, Marcus Gurley, and Pavel Ivan.
$600 Deep Stack No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $1,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 1: 100/100 Flight E Entries: 181
As expected, Flight E has more than enough entries at the start of the day to put Event 1 over the $1,000,000 guarantee. From this point forward, every new entry will push the prize pool higher until registration closes for Flight F this evening at 9:30 pm.
Four flights are down and two more to go for the LHPO opening event and the $400 Deep Stack NLH tournament should hit its $1,000,000 guarantee before cards go in the air for Flight E. Only 102 new entries are needed so that seven-digit prize pool is a lock.
Event 1 players start with 20K deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2 and 60 when 24 players remain. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm.
Flight E will play down to the last 12.5% and survivor will return tomorrow at 1 pm in the money.
