Michael Laufer

Every series kicks off with a big multi-flight tournament to set the tone. The fields are massive, and the payouts are impressive for the buy-in amount. It takes a lot of talent and a fair share of luck to get through and take home that trophy.

We have two players in today’s field who managed that feat. Michael Laufer topped a field of 6,196 entries (the biggest tournament in state history at the time) to take home $160,734.

Scott Woodring is the defending champ of this very event. He outlasted the 4,535-entry field in Event 1 of the 2023 LHPO series for a payday worth $190,939.
