Phil Hui

Phil Hui is the Pot Limit Omaha champion following a win in Event 21 of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Hui defeated a strong field of 56 entries in the $2,200 buy-in event ultimately scoring an outright win of $41,440 and a token guitar pick trophy.

There were six finalists at the start of  Day 2 including three-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu.

Hui, the eventual champion led the pack with more than twice the amount of chips as his next  closest opponent. Everyone was guaranteed a payday of $6,720 with all eyes on the first place prize of $41,440.

It was pretty smooth sailing for the Hui to score his fourth Seminole Hard Rock trophy.

This was Hui’s first outright win of the series out of five final tables. He chopped the  Event 6  $300 Deep Stack Turbo and came runner up in Event 2 $360 Omaha 8 or Better.

He also finished fourth in Event 11 $360 PLO 8 as well as sixth in Event 12 $360 H.O.R.S.E.

The Florida local undoubtedly has some home field advantage, “I love it here, its good to be home.. I love sleeping in my own bed. I like to have a routine, being able to go to the gym before I play, eat what I want and cook what I want.”

The victory pushed him to over $1,700,000 in reported earnings.
