Sheldon Gross defeated Anthony Barbera in a heads-up battle to win the $400 Deep Stack NLH event, earning $20,370.

There were 263 entries in this one-day event, which played out alongside Day 2 of the massive field for Event 1. The cards got in the air at 11:00 am, and it was after 3:30 am (16+ hours later) when the final hand was dealt.

This is the first trophy for Gross at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.

Gross called with 6x3x for two pair, sixes and threes, and Barbera turned over Qx6x for a pair of sixes. Barbera needed to improve to stay alive.

Kharlin Sued moved all in UTG+1 for 800,000, Pedro Catinchi called from the hijack, John Two-Bears called from the small blind, and Ben Boston called from the big blind.

“You’re about to quadruple up,” said Boston.

The flop came Jd10c6h, Boston checked, and Catinchi bet 1,000,000. Two-Bears folded, and Boston called.

Boston checked in the dark, and Catinchi quickly dark-checked behind him just before the 2d fell on the turn.

The dealer put out the 5s on the river, both players checked again, and all three players showed their cards.
