Main Event Day 2: Bad Table Draw

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 800/1.6k/200 ante

Table 41 will be one of the next tables to break and it has not been a good spot for a lot of players so far. Steve Karp knocked out Marc Sachezi earlier in the 5-seat and the incoming player was soon gone as well.

Paul Prager was eliminated when his ATo was shot down by a four-card straight on the board by the K7o of Ray Nalbandian followed by Chris Bolek sending Ioannis Poitsourakis out two hands later. One hour into play and five players are gone who spent time at the table.

Only 99 players remain of the starting 117 with two tables down and ten to go.

Main Event Day 2: Paterson Double

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 600/1.2k/200 ante

Stuart Paterson came into to the day at the bottom of the chip count with just barely over the 20k starting stack. He now has a little more room to work as he doubled through Edgar Solorzano with Queens versus As9s. He had to dodge a gutshot on the river but now has enough to make some moves.

Main Event Day 2: Player Down

$1,500 + $150 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Poker Open” Main Event

Blinds: 600/1.2k/200 ante

Steve Karp is one of the top players remaining in the field and was late for the start of Day 2. Most of his chips were still in the bag when he called the all-in of Marc Sachezi but his pocket Sevens were dominated by Sachezi’s Aces.

Temporarily. The dealer pealed another Seven right off the flop and Karp added Sachezi’s stack to those chips he still needed to organize. Karp is looking to add to his runner-up finish in the 2009 WSOP $1,500 NLH Event 7.

Blinds: 600/1.2k/200 ante

It’s moving day at the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open” Main Event. The entire field from Day 1A and 1B combine for a nice even 117 players, the exact amount of players the 13 tables in the tournament area will hold.

Serge Coles begins the day as chipleader with 249,500 and will spend his day on one of the final tables to break but will have 3-time WSOP Champion Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi to deal with at Table 40. Local Nigel Murray is not far behind with 249,000 and he has 2-time WPT Champion David “Chino” Rheem to his left.

One of the more interesting tables to watch in early going Table 30. Entertaining regular Elliott Zaydman will facing up against three pros in Tony Cousineau, Darryll “DFish” Fish, and Stuart Paterson. They will be the second table to break today and we’ll keep an eye on the action.

Only 54 of the starting Day 2 players will make it into the money and the schedule is play down to the final table or 2am, whichever comes first.

Stay tuned for wire-to-wire coverage of Day 2.

Blinds: 500/1K/100 ante

We have concluded play for the day and the unofficial number of players making it through to Day 2 action is 69, making the total number of players returning 117. With only 54 spots getting paid that means over half of those returning will come up short of making any money. The Day 1B chip leader is Cong Pham with 240.8K. He is followed closely by John Pizano with 238.2 K. Not too far back is Darryl Fish with 188K. We’ll have the full chip counts and Day 2 seating assignments posted as soon as they become available.

We have half an hour left in the last level of the day. 81 players are left and the average chip stack is 67K. Cong Pham is leading the way after winning a bit pot that put him up to close to 250K in chips. We’ll have end of day chip counts shortly after play concludes for the evening.

There are 90 players remaining with 20 minutes remaining in Level 9. Notable players and their approximate chip stacks:

Chino Rheem 135K
Cong Pham 135K
Daryll Fish 125K
Matthew Waxman 85K
Ronnie Bardah 40K

At one table, there was an action packed hand that went down like this:

A woman in early position from Seat 5, raised to 2200. Seat 8 called. Seat 1 from the button called. Seat 2 from the small blind called. Seat 3 from the big blind made it 6800 to go. Seat 5, 8 and 1 all called. Seat 2 decided to move all in. Seat 3 moved all in. The other three decided they’d seen enough and folded. Seat 2 had AhQh and was behind the AsKc of Seat 3. The board would run out Td7s4d4h3s and Seat 3 would not only get 24.4K from Seat 2 but also 20.4K from the other three players who had each stuck in 6.8K.
