$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight) $500,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 8: 400/800 with a 800 ante Flight C Entries: 650
Francis Margaglione
Flight C moved into Level 8 which means time is running out for players to run up a stack or use their re-entry options. The 480-player cap is long gone but players who made it in can still use that single re-entry if it’s needed. The tournament is less than 10 away from putting together a seven-digit prize pool.
Francis Margaglione will have to wait another day to try to advance. The three-time SHRP champ ran into consecutive tough beats to exit this afternoon but he says he’ll be back later.
The great start to the series continues with the H.O.R.S.E. as more than 100 players are in the freeze-out in the first hour. The tournament already has the second biggest H.O.R.S.E. field in our history and not far from the top spot.
Nick Pupillo is trying to follow the same path he took in January during the Lucky Hearts Poker Open. He bagged a big stack in Event 1 on the first day of play, entered the H.O.R.S.E. on the second, and took home the title. Now at the Showdown, Pupillo was the biggest stack in Event 1 Flight A and he’s back in the H.O.R.S.E. tournament trying to defend his win.
$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight) $500,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 6: 300/500 with a 500 ante Flight C Entries: 604
Fabian Foster
Flight C is moving right along and on the cusp of doubling up its $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. We have more than 600 entries so far and that’s with the field limited to only single re-entries at this point.
Fabian Foster has some recent success in this size event. He went all the way to the final table of Event 1 in January, finishing third out of 3,004 for a $143,366 payday.
2021 Poker Showdown Event 2 Champion Donald Maloney
The 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown kicked off on Thursday with two big flights of the opening event and a one-day trophy tournament.
The $400 Limit Omaha 8 tournament awarded the first Showdown trophy of the series and it was a record-setting tournament. The 159-player turnout created the biggest Limit Omaha 8 field in our history, topping the 153 entries from the 2011 Poker Showdown and 2011 Summer Splash series.
WPT Borgata champ Donald Maloney showed he has skills in non-hold’em games and booked his first career SHRP title. He earned $9,236 after a four-way deal with Gary Webster, Thomas Millmore, and Michael Lee.
Event 1 is the opening, multi-flight tournament on the schedule and the $600 Deep Stack NLH game came in huge. The first two flights combined to put 1,245 into the game, easily surpassing the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
LHPO H.O.R.S.E. champ (and three-time WSOP Circuit winner) Nick Pupillo shares the current returning Day 2 chip lead with Seth Medoff, both coming back for Day 2 with 464,000. Rafaello Locatelli (413,000), Jill Bryant (398,000), and William Blais (378,000).
A total of 157 players booked a seat into Day 2 on Sunday at 2 pm with all of them already in the money.
A new day on the schedule means another interesting one-day trophy event. Event 3 gets underway at noon with a $400 H.O.R.S.E. freeze-out for our mix game friends.
The tournament will rotate between Limit Hold’em, Limit Omaha 8, Razz, Seven-Card Stud, and Seven-Card Stud 8 every eight hands until we have a champion.
They’ll sit down to 12,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels from start to finish. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm with no re-entries available if they bust. A dinner break is scheduled at 6 pm and they will return to play it out.
This tournament drew 102 players in January and we expect to match that total this afternoon.
Players begin with 12,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
Late registration until start of Level 9 (4:30pm)
This is a one-day tournament and plays until completion

Steve “Yo Cuz” Buckner is back in the ballroom trying to run up a stack
Tournament staff will begin sending Flight C players on a staggered break schedule with 15 minutes remaining in Level 4. Dividing the breaks into thirds, this process will limit a big crowd outside of the Ballroom and the entire field will hit the start of Level 5 at the same time.
$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight) $500,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 2: 100/100 with a 100 ante Flight C Entries: 480
It did not take long to hit the mark this morning. Flight C reached its 480-player cap and no more new entries will be registered for this session. Players currently in the game may still use their single re-entry option if they bust out before the start of Level 9.
$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight) $500,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 1: 100/100 Flight C Entries: 344
Cards are in the air for Flight C of Poker Showdown Event 1 with 344 entries at the start of play. That puts the combined total at 1,589 for the tournament and the prize pool is up to $823,225.
Registration will remain open until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm and we expect the 480 unique player cap to be close before then.
$600 Deep Stack NLH (Single Re-Entry Per Flight) $500,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 1: 100/100
We kicked off the 2021 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown yesterday with two big flights of Event 1 and the combined 1,245 entries pushed the prize pool over the $500,000 guarantee. That great start means the tournament is only another 660 from pushing the prize pool past $1,000,000.
It will be close to getting there in Flight C but it’s a lock to get there before the end of registration in Flight D. It’s going to be a fun day in the Seminole Ballroom.
Players will start with 20,000 deep stacks and Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration and a single re-entry are available until the start of Level 9 at 2:30 pm. The field will cap today at 480 unique players so it’s suggested to get here early,
They will continue playing down until the field reaches 12.5% and those players will advance to Day 2 on Sunday already in money.
Cards go in the air at 10 am and we will have all the action throughout the day.
