Two events on the Showdown schedule had special meaning aside from the poker aspect. On Wednesday, we hosted a charity event with MMA star Colby Covington to benefit America’s Champions Foundation.
Last night was the Larry Frank Memorial Charity Event benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation of South Florida, honoring the man who pioneered poker growth in the Sunshine State.
In addition to cash and prizes, each winner was awarded a seat in today’s flight of the WPT Poker Showdown Championship. Matthew Zarcadoolas took the title last night, and Roberto Desogos was the victor the previous evening.
Both are in their seats and trying to continue their run good.
