Event 9: Raymond Ross Eliminated by Alex Rocha

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 23: 10,000/20,000 with a 3,000 ante
Players Remaining: 108 of 2,923

Alex Rocha raised all in from the cutoff for 239,000 and Raymond Ross called all in from the big blind for about 70,000.

Rocha: Ac2s
Ross: 8d6d

The flop fell Js10h8c, giving Ross the lead with a pair of eights. The turn was the Kd, giving Rocha outs to Broadway. Sure enough, the river was the Qs, giving Rocha an ace-high straight to eliminate Ross.

Alex Rocha – 340,000 (17 bb)
Raymond Ross – Eliminated in 109th Place ($2,061)

Event 9: Jessica Dawley the Latest into Seven Figures

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 22: 8,000/16,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 116 of 2,923

Jessica Dawley

SHRP Team member Jessica Dawley opened the button with a raise, and Mark Wahba defended his big blind.

Wahba check-called a Dawley bet on the KsTh2d flop, then check-shoved for around 300,000 on the 3h turn. After betting both streets, Dawley called the shove to put Wahba at risk.

Dawley: Kh8h (pair of kings, flush draw)
Wahba: QsJh (straight draw)

Dawley had her opponent drawing slim with one to come, and the 7s river gave her the knockout with a pair of kings. She became the most recent member of the million-chip club with that pot, while Wahba headed to the payout desk.

Jessica Dawley – 1,200,000 (75 bb)
Mark Wahba – Eliminated

Event 9: Asher Conniff Rebuilding

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 22: 8,000/16,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 119 of 2,923

Asher Conniff

Asher Conniff was parted with more than half his stack during the last level, doubling up Julio Rodriguez to drop to less than 15 big blinds.

In the time since, Conniff has gone about rebuilding his stack, involved mostly in pots against the other pros at his table. In one recent hand, Mark Dube opened with a raise in late position, and Conniff three-bet shoved from one of the blinds. Dube folded, and Conniff won the pot.

Just a moment ago, David Prociak opened to 36,000 in middle position, and Coniff defended his big blind. Both players checked through the Qd3c2h flop, and the turn was the Jh. Conniff led for 48,000, and Prociak called. They both checked through the Ah river, and Conniff showed KhKc to win the pot with a pair of kings.

He’s regained all of his previous losses and then some, sitting now with a comfortable stack of close to 30 big blinds.

Asher Conniff – 460,000 (29 bb)
David Prociak – 540,000 (34 bb)

Event 9: Mark Dube Crosses Seven Figures

Mark Dube

Mark Dube opened to 35,000 in middle position and Sergio Giha three-bet to 82,000 in the small blind. Dube four-bet shoved for 397,000 effective, and Giha called all in for that amount to put himself at risk.

Dube: AhJc
Giha: TsTd

The board ran out Ad7s4c4s9c, and Dube won the race with aces up. He moved well across the million-chip mark with that pot, sending Giha to the payout desk in 127th place.

Mark Dube – 1,245,000 (78 bb)
Sergio Giha – Eliminated

Event 9: Julio Rodriguez Doubles Through Asher Conniff

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 21: 6,000/12,000 with a 2,000 ante
Players Remaining: 153 of 2,923

Asher Conniff opened to 25,000 in middle position, and David Prociak called in the small blind. From the big blind, Julio Rodriguez three-bet shoved for 191,000 total. Conniff re-shoved for around 350,000, Prociak folded, and Rodriguez was heads-up and at risk.

Conniff: AhTh
Rodriguez: KdKc

The board ran out KsTc2d9dTd, and Rodriguez won the pot to double up with kings full.

Julio Rodriguez – 404,000 (34 bb)

Level 19: 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 249 of 2,923

Shortly after the level bump, tournament staff instructed dealers to hold up after their current hand with 252 players remaining and 250 getting paid.

Before anyone could blink, three different tables called out “seat open” while players were trying to figure out if they were or weren’t in the money. After a head count to confirm, it was announced that they were in the money without the need for hand-for-hand.

Event 9: David Prociak Active Near the Bubble

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 258 of 2,923

Jon Borenstein (left) versus David Prociak (right)

Reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year David Prociak wasn’t sitting back and nursing a stack as the money bubble got closer. He was mixing it up in a lot of hands, dropping Wally Maddah down to a short stack before aiming at neighbor Jon Borenstein.

Maddah was on the button when he dropped some chips after Prociak check/called with the board reading JdTh6c7c then fired for 38,000 after the 3d river. Maddah thought for a while before he called with AdJd but top/top was no good against Prociak’s flopped set 6d6h.

Soon after, Prociak was in a battle of the blinds with Borenstein and called bets down to the turn on the 7c5c4d8c board. Borenstein slowed down after the Kd river and released to a bet from Prociak.

On the next hand, Borenstein raised from the button to 15,000 and Prociak three-bet to 42,000 from the small blind. Borenstein counted out chips before four-betting to 100,000. Snap and crackle and all the chips were in the middle in a hurry with Borenstein at risk.

But it was an anti-climatic hand after all when Borenstein tabled AhKs against AsKh to chop up the pot.

David Prociak – 690,000 (115 bb)
Jon Borenstein – 200,000 (33 bb)
Wally Maddah – 56,000 (9 bb)

Event 9: Moskalenko Leads as Bubble Nears

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: 3,000/6,000 with a 1,000 ante
Players Remaining: 268 of 2,923

Neil Moskalenko

Players returned from their first break of the day with the blinds going up and the players going down. They are only a few table breaks away from going into hand-for-hand mode.

The 500 denom chips came off the tables while the blue 25K were introduced. There are few ~500K stacks hanging around the room but Neil Moskalenko has eclipsed them all with a full barrel of the blue birds. His total count after color up is 835,000 to put him out front near the money.

Event 12: Purple Chips Flying

$1,650 Purple Chip Bounty NLH (Single Re-Entry)

Rich Rice

The Purple Chip Bounty tournament is cruising right along after blowing past its $100,000 guaranteed prize pool early in play. The casual-paced tournament gives them plenty of play and Rich Rice made the most of his opportunities.

The SHRP regular has several final tables to his credit here but is waiting for his first title. This would be a good one to take home later tomorrow.
