RECAP
With three players remaining and their stacks close to even, the trio decided on an even chop of the money and let the chips decide the placement. Steele Sutter (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) had the most chips and he takes 1st place and $26,812, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open trophy, and the custom framed 16×20 photograph provided by IMPDI.
Joe Reddick gets second place honors and $26,812. Third place goes to Konstantinos Pantaridis, along with $26,812.
Most notable at this final table was Michael Wang, who finished 6th. This is Wang’s fifth cash of this series and third final table. One of those cashes was in a satellite, winning his seat in the $10 Million Guaranteed Championship event.
This event drew 78 entrants and created a total prize pool of $117,000 which would be paid to the final 8. Day 1 closed at 3am after 12 hours of play with eleven players remaining. They returned at 3pm Tuesday and resumed play for another 8 hours before it was over.
Steele Sutter makes his living in Real Estate, but has been here at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open since the beginning. He made the final table of Event 1, finishing 7th for $26,765.
“It’s been awesome…this has been the best tournament series I’ve ever played. I’ve enjoyed myself. It’s five-star. It’s the best,” Sutter said. About his trophy, he said “It feels good. I can tell my family that I’m not just a compulsive gambler, there’s some skill to this…this is proof.”
