$1,650 Six-Max Dealer’s Choice (Freeze-Out)

Adam Friedman and Andrew Kelsall just will not go away.  This time both of them managed to double up.

Friedman managed to hit a flush against Robert Mizrachi playing 5-Card Draw High as Mizrachi could only flash aces.  Then Kelsall had three aces showing on fifth street while Senovio Ramirez III hit three fours on sixth street.  Ramirez missed his full house on the final card and just for fun Kelsall flipped up another ace for quads.

Both players staying in still leaves us at seven players still alive tonight in our Dealer’s Choice tournament.

Since we’ve reached the final table, Brad Ruben, Phillip Hui and Adam Friedman all chose to play Big O.  Friedman and Andrew Kelsall have both survived all-ins to stay alive in what had briefly turned in a Big O tourney.

Robert Mizrachi finally had enough and has gone to 5 Card Draw-High to switch up it up and has already locked horns with Brad Ruben taking down a pot.  He still leads the field with seven players to go as we continue on here in Level 14.

Brad Ruben managed to finally take Lonnie Heimowitz out.   Playing Big O, Heimowitz hit trip jacks on the turn.  But Ruben had already hit a set of fours on the flop and the paired board gave him the full house and the elimination.

Brian Zekas found himself in a betting battle with Adam Friedman and his chips ended up in the middle on fourth street.  Zekas was holding a pair of jacks and Friedman was sitting on 4-5-6-7 for an open-ended straight draw.

Not only did Friedman hit, but he ended up with 3-4-5-6-7-8-9 for a seven card straight giving him the high hand and the low knocking out Zekas.

With the elimination, we are down to eight players left and are one more away from going to an unofficial final table.

No Limit Hold ‘Em

Brad Ruben knew what he was doing.  With two players very light on chips, Ruben picked No Limit Hold ‘Em trying to draw one or both of them out and he got his wish.

Jesse Katz fired his last 3,025 into the middle and was called by Philip Hui.  Katz turned up and Hui showed .  The board ran out knocking Katz out in 10th place.

Nine players remain as we roll on here in Event 18.

After the elimination of Michael Wang in 11th place, the remaining ten players have been battling it out and two have been able to make some serious headway.

Robert Mizrachi has opened up a lead on the pack after rolling through a Razz rotation going to 60,350 chips with Andrew Kelsall trying to keep him in check on his table holding on to 41,500.

Brad Ruben is out in front on the other table as he is riding a nice run that came right before the last table break.  Ruben stands at 42,250 and looks to build toward what would be his second final table of this series.

Big O

Another one of the games you don’t get see often in tournament play is Big O which is played like Omaha but players are dealt five cards instead of four.  If you thought strong hands get busted quickly in Omaha, the possibilities double in Big O so players have to tread lightly taking a hand to the river.

Senovio Ramirez III called the game and took five of the six hands showing the power of getting to choose a game where you feel like you have a huge edge or what game fits the table’s situation best. And as soon as the final hand of the rotation was over, the table couldn’t switch to PLO fast enough.
