The fifth hand of the day brought the first showdown.

Omar Zazay opened to 115,000 in middle position, and Chris Hunichen defended his big blind.

The flop was Ah8s5s. Hunichen checked, Zazay continued for 110,000, and Hunichen called. Both players checked through the 5c turn, and the river was the 3d. Hunichen bet 325,000, which represented just over half of his opponent’s remaining stack. Zazay eventually called.

Hunichen showed Kh4c for not much at all, and Zazay won the pot with 9s9d.

Omar Zazay – 1,485,000 (30 bb)
Chris Hunichen – 1,140,000 (23 bb)

Chance Kornuth opened the next pot to 110,000 in middle position, and Leah three-bet to 1,000,000 straight on the button. Kornuth folded.

Leah opened the next pot to 125,000 from the cutoff, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #4 went to Leah, too. He opened for the same amount from the hijack and met no resistance.

Through the first four hands, Leah has profited 450,000 chips or a full nine big blinds.

Mike Leah – 2,585,000 (52 bb)

Brandon Adams leads restart of the High Roller final table

The Big 4 High Roller blew past last year’s numbers to create the biggest $25K High Roller field we’ve hosted. The tournament drew 117 entries and they played through a long day until only eight players were set for the Poker Night in America live-streamed final table.

Brandon Adams returns with the chip but the table is full of talented players capable of chasing him down including Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Chance Kornuth. Sam Panzica has the shortest stack but the two-time WPT champ can run it up in a hurry.

Cards go in the air for all Big 4 final tables at noon and we will bring you all the action.

High Roller: Meet the Final Table

$25,500 Big 4 High Roller
$2,000,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 19: 25,000/50,000  with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 8 of 117

Seat 1: Omar Zazay
Chip Count: 1,015,000

Zazay is a 32-year-old business owner from Dallas, Texas. In 2015, Zazay won the SHRPO Championship event, outlasting a field of 907 entries to claim the $1 million top prize. He’ll return to the second-shortest stack at the final table but with a favorable record in this building.

Seat 2: Sam Panzica
Chip Count: 910,000

Panzica is a 25-year-old standout from here in Fort Lauderdale. He’s on a serious heater over the last calendar year, having won two WPT titles in that span for more than $1.7 million combined. He also has four WSOP Circuit rings. In total, Panzica has close to $3.4 million in tournament earnings.

Seat 3: Tom Marchese
Chip Count: 1,120,000

Marchese is a fixture in the world’s largest poker tournaments. With more than $16 million in tournament earnings, the 29-year-old pro has earned nearly as much as the rest of the final table combined. He’s cashed for seven figures on six separate occasions, with the biggest of those coming courtesy of a runner-up finish in one of the now-defunct $100,000 WPT Alpha 8 events. He’s also one of the few people in the world with a trophy from the old North American Poker Tour.

Seat 4: Brandon Adams
Chip Count: 2,245,000

Adams is a dabbler in both high-stakes poker tournaments and daily fantasy sports contests. On the felt, he has just over $1.5 million in tournament earnings entering this event, but he’s still in search of his first victory in a major live event. His previous best result is a runner-up run in the $25,000 event at the Aussie Millions earlier this year.

Seat 5: Chris Hunichen
Chip Count: 1,715,000

Hunichen is a 33-year-old who makes his home in Playas Del Coco, Costa Rica. He’s married with two children, including a new seven-month old. His career-best result came just this past summer when he finished as the runner-up in the difficult $5,000 six-max event. Hunichen will cross the $2-million mark in career earnings with his run in this High Roller, regardless of his finish.

Seat 6: Chance Kornuth
Chip Count: 1,195,000

Kornuth is a 31-year-old member of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker team. He has more than $5.5 million in tournament earnings on his stat sheet, and his trophies include a WSOP bracelet and several pieces of High Roller hardware from around the world.

Seat 7: John Andress
Chip Count: 1,370,000

Andress is 29 years old and comes from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He won a €10,000 event at EPT8 Prague, and he’s had a couple near-misses in other major tournaments. He’ll cross the big million-dollar milestone in tournament earnings today no matter the result.

Seat 8: Mike Leah
Chip Count: 2,135,000

Leah is a 42-year-old man of many poker talents from Ontario, Canada. Three years ago, he finished second in the SHRPO Main Event for more than $1 million, and his other accomplishments include a WSOP gold bracelet and five WSOP Circuit rings. A finish of sixth or better would move Leah over the $6 million-mark in career tournament earnings.

Level 19: 25,000/50,000  with a 5,000 ante

Brandon Adams

It took nearly 15 hours for the field of 117 entries to play down to the final table of eight. The man best positioned to make a run at this year’s SHRPO High Roller title and $801,450 is a blast from the past in Brandon Adams, who bagged up 2.245 million. He is seeking his first live tournament victory despite having more than $1.5 million in earnings.

The only other player over the two-million mark is Mike Leah with 2.135 million. Others returning for Day 2 action are Chris “Big Huni” Hunichen (1.715 million), high roller vet Tom Marchese (1.12 million), and two-time WPT champ Sam Panzica (910,000).

Rounding out the final table are John Andress (1.37 million), Chance Kornuth (1.195 million), and Omar Zazay (1.015 million). In  2015, Zazay won the SHRPO Main Event for a smooth $1 million, so he’ll be looking for his second SHRPO title come tomorrow.

Among those to cash the tournament but fall short of the final table were Anthony Spinella (16th – $55,575), Zach Smiley (15th – $58,500),  defending champ Marvin Rettenmaier (14th – $61,425), Rainer Kempe (13th – $64,350), Jeff Gross (12th – $67,275), Alex Papazian (11th – $70,200), Joseph Cheong (10th – $73,125), and Matt Glantz (9th – $76,050).

Of course not everyone was fortunate enough to cash. Among those to try and fall over the course of play were Erik Seidel, Blake Bohn, Dan Colman, Jared Jaffee, Cate Hall, Ike Haxton, Bryn Kenney, Nick Petrangelo, and 2017 SHRPO $50K Super High Roller champ Nick Schulman.

Here’s the final lineup. The remaining players will return to action at Noon EDT on Sunday inside Hard Rock Live to play down to a winner.  Not only will we capture all the action here in the blog, you’ll be able to watch The Big Four action online.

Seat 1: Omar Zazay – 1,015,000 (20 bb)
Seat 2: Sam Panzica – 910,000 (18 bb)

Level 19: 25,000/50,000  with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 8 of 117

Matt Glantz

Matt Glantz moved all in for 715,000 from the hijack and action folded to John Andress, who called off for 665,000 from the big blind.

Andress: AhAc
Glantz: 5d5s

The 7c8h2h flop didn’t do much for Glantz, but the 6s turn made things interesting by  giving him an open-ended straight draw. Unfortunately for him, the 8c river failed to complete it and he was left with just 50,000.

In the very next hand, Glantz called off for 45,000 from middle position and Brandon Adams isolated with a raise to 160,000  from the hijack.

Adams: 8d8h
Glantz: As2s

The 9dQd3h flop was dry as could be for Glantz, and he was left drawing dead after the dealer burned and turned the 8s. The meaningless 10c was put out on the river and Glantz took his leave from the tournament.

Matt Glantz – Eliminated in 9th Place ($76,050)

Joseph Cheong

Joseph Cheong moved all in under the gun for 345,000 and Omar Zazay, who was next to act, moved all in over the top for 610,000. The rest of the field got out of the way and Cheong discovered the bad news.

Cheong: AdJc
Zazay: AhQs

Cheong had a kicker problem and it didn’t get resolved as the board ran out a dry As8c6d2h3h.

Omar Zazay – 1,000,000 (25 bb)
Joseph Cheong – Eliminated in 10th Place ($73,125)
