David Shmuel

Cards are back in the air after dinner and it looks like David Shmuel had a good run over the first six levels. He returned to the chip lead with just shy of 300,000 from his 50,000 starting stack. A nice chunk of them came when his aces were good against Wally Maddah’s big slick on a king-high board.

We have 77 entries so far with 45 remaining on five tables and late registration open until the noon start of Day 2 on Sunday.

Event 4 Flight A: More Talent

Level 9: 500/1,000 with a 1,000 ante

Jacquelyn Scott

It’s a small field but it’s a tough one too. More players took their spots among the table including two-time WSOP bracelet winner (and five-time WSOPC champ) Loni Harwood, single WSOP bracelet winner (and four-time WSOPC champ) Phil Hui, and former WSOP Ladies Champ Jacquelyn Scott.

They will play out this level and take a 40-minute dinner break.

Bill Farnan (left) and Dion Jagroo (right)

We found Dion Jagroo earlier in the day, fresh off his Event 1 and he’s been joined by Bill Farnan on his right. The two were in similar positions a few days ago. Farnan also made the Event 1 final table and they were seated next to each other for a few hours.

Farnan missed out on the win, finishing in seventh place, but he has other success here including a Fun in the Sun win this past December.

Event 4 Flight A: Big Stacks

$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 7: 300/600 with a 600 ante
Flight A Entries: 69

David Shmuel

We are back underway in the poker room with three more levels remaining until the 40-minute dinner break.

A few bigger stacks have emerged and some of them belong to the tough players you might think. Nick Pupillo and TK Miles both pushed their stack over twice the starting 50,000 stack and David Shmuel is there with them holding 126,000.

Shmuel is a long time regular and his most recent wins came with two during the 2017 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open.

Event 4 Flight A: Tired Champ

$1,650 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 6: 300/500 with a 500 ante
Flight A Entries: 61

Chanpiseth Keam

We mentioned Dion Jagroo earlier, playing today on a freeroll thanks to his Event 1 win. But he had a few days off to recover from the long days unlike Chanpiseth Keam today.

He conquered the tough Event 3 yesterday and his day ended around 4am after a three-way deal sending him the title with the added $1,650 seat to first place. Keam can be excused if he’s a little tired today but he’s already working his stack in the right direction.

Event 4 Flight A: Wally Maddah Wants Back-to-Back

$1,650 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 5: 200/400 with a 400 ante
Flight A Entries: 58

Wally Maddah

The field is crawling higher but the room is still getting louder. There is a fun vibe in the poker room today and everyone seems to be having a good time as we head into the holiday weekend.

Wally Maddah is back in the field today and he’s all business. The popular Tampa grinder had a deep run in this tournament last year finishing fifth out of 465 entries for a nice score.

Event 4 Flight A: Nick Pupillo Up Early

$1,650 Deepest Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$300,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 4: 150/300 with a 300 ante
Flight A Entries: 56

Nick Pupillo

Players returned to their seats after the break and new faces continue to take their seats and starting building a stack.

Nick Pupillo was in before the break and is already having himself a nice day. The two-time WSOP Circuit winner more than doubled his starting stack and sits with 112,800 in the early going. Besides those two Circuit rings, Pupillo also won two Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open titles in back-to-back days in 2014.
