With the huge turnout, the tournament went to an alternate system as we rolled over into the afternoon. They are grinding through the players at a snappy pace and everyone is now in their seats.
Zoltan Czinkota didn’t have any wait at all. The SHRP regular was here when cards went in the air and he’s mixing it up. Czinkota has two Hollywood titles but he’s still looking for a major trophy after four runner-up finishes.

We have packed house this morning and heading into the afternoon hours with a person in every seat. More tables are opening to accommodate the huge early turnout so we can roll the players right to their seats.
The combined entry count climbed to 700 and the prize pool is now over $200,000. There’s plenty of time to get in the Event 1 action; they’ll play into the evening and registration is open until the start of Day 2 tomorrow at noon.

Two flights are in the books and it’s time to kick off the final opening day of Event 1. The tournament crossed over the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool midway through Flight B and they will continue to push it higher during the big Saturday afternoon in the poker room.
A combined 545 entries are in the game already and 64 advanced to Day 2 tomorrow. Svi Soudai holds a big lead at the top of the counts but there will be a lot of chips in play to build big bags.
Players will start out with 30,000 stacks and all opening flight levels will last 40 minutes. Late registration and re-entries are available all day long and will close at the start of Day 2. There is a dinner break at 5:30pm and they will play 15 full levels or stop when only 12% of the field remains.
It will be a busy day in the poker room and we’ll track them all along the way.
When they return on Sunday for Day 2, the blind level will reset to the beginning of Level 14 where Flight B ended last evening. They will play Levels 14 and 15 at 40 minutes a pop and switch to 90-minute levels after that.

Flight B came to a quick end when they hit the 12% mark with nearly two full levels in the evening. With 39 minutes and 42 seconds remaining in Level 14, tournament officials paused the clock and brought out the bags.
Svi Soudai kept his hot streak rolling along and put together a huge bag of 718,000 which is more than 200,000 clear of Michael Newman in second.
Jon Borenstein, Wally Maddah, Stuart Greenbaum, Al Gomez, and Matthew Ehlrich were also among those advancing.
Full chip counts will be posted as soon as they are available.

Unlike yesterday, there was no slowdown after the final break of the day. A few players re-entered but the field is only two eliminations from ending their day.
Unless more buy-in, then it might tweak that number.
Matthew Ehlrich’s lead was shortlived and Svi Soudai is back out front with 490,000. That’s good enough for the lead and he has a chance to surpass Michael Newman’s 503,000 that he bagged last night.

The action picked up over the last level before the last break. Flight B is down to 46 players with 35 being the magic number for an early hard stop to the day.
This happened yesterday as well but the bustouts slowed after the break so it’s a coin flip if we get there.

Svi Soudai’s reign at the top of the leaderboard was shortlived, but he was there to witness the carnage. Matthew Ehrlich opened the action, Chad Millward came along next to act, and Francis Margaglione moved all in right after for 60,000.
The small blind player called all in for less, Ehrlich moved all in over the top and Millward came along for the huge, four-way all in pot.
Small blind: Ehrlich: Millward: Margaglione:
The kings were in great shape and Ehrlich had everyone covered with the biggest stack but the flop changed that in a hurry. Margaglione and the small blind player were in line for their chopped up double and they had it after the turn and river.
They paid out the main pot and then went to work on the side pot. Both Millward and Ehrlich had a lot of chips with all of Millward’s 236,000 going to his neighbor while he went to re-enter.
Ehlrich moved up to 485,000 for the lead and go in contention for Michael Newman’s overall chip lead of 503,000 from Flight A.
