Jaime Sequeira, Event 4 Champion

The 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open put a fun, fast tournament on the schedule for those looking for some Saturday afternoon poker. It was a small, hard event to get through but SHRP visitor Jaime Sequeira will be taking home a trophy after beating the field.

The $570 buy-in tournament drew 44 entries that comprised a field of weekend grinders and those already booked into Day 2 of the WPTDeepStacks event. They battled tough and, as expected with a turbo event, quickly found themselves at the final table.

But with only six of the final table ten players making some money, they still had some work to do.

The final table included former SHRP champs Gil Aboodi and Manny Minaya, both also holding sister property Tampa titles, but neither were able to take home another trophy.

Aboodi was able to make a min-cash in sixth place followed by Sampath “Sammy Grammy” De Silva and Scott Robbins to the payout desk.

The final three players decided to chop of the remaining prize pool and Sequeira took home the trophy as the chip leader. They split the remaining money almost evenly and Sequeira was happy to ship the title.

From Toronto, Sequeira made the trek to warmer weather and will be headed home with a new trophy.  He plans to stick around this week and take his shot at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship starting on Thursday.

Full recap to come shortly.
