Ricardo Eyzaguirre

With the deep stacks and slow levels, it’s a steady march to build up the entry count this afternoon but it did reach an even 250 for Day 1B. That puts it well in line to triple up the guarantee sometime on Saturday.

SHRP regular Ricardo Eyzaguirre made his return to South Florida after a successful run in Las Vegas. The former Hollywood champ picked up his first Vegas trophy when he was the Venetian $400 Monster Stack at the beginning of the month for nearly $30,000.

Former SHRP champ Oniel McCalla is among the new faces today and trying to add another trophy to his collection.

Day 1B players will move through three more levels before another break and their 40-minute dinner break will hit at 3:50 pm.

We have new faces in the room today including Gili Prizament. The last time we saw her run deep was a couple of weeks ago when she made the last two tables of the big $150 Showdown Big Stack multi-flight tournament.

Michael Newman (1-seat), Eric Piderit (2-seat). and David Shmuel (3-seat)

“Look at this lineup!” Eric Piderit joked.

“You have the loudest donkey (pointing at Michael Newman in the 1-seat), the second loudest donkey (pointing at himself), and the quiet assassin (David Shmuel to his left).”

“Who’s the quiet assassin?” Newman asked before looking up.

“Oh,” he responded after realizing Shmuel fit that bill.

Those three players in the lineup make up a lot of success in our events. Newman, Shmuel, and Piderit have a combined 10 major SHRP Hollywood titles with $1.85 million in combined earnings. Newman tops the trio with the biggest win; taking down the 2017 RRPO Championship for $374,240.
