Event 6: Amir Dukic Eliminated by Aaron Mahlfeldt

$1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 18:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Players Remaining: 11 of 126

Amir Dukic

Aaron Mahlfeldt open-shoved for 47,000 and Amir Dukic called at risk for less in the small blind.

Mahlfeldt: QdJs
Dukic: Jd8d

Dukic needed help to stay in the game, missed the AcKd2h flop but paired the 8c turn to take the lead. The Th made a Broadway straight for Mahlfeldt and Dukic’s big comeback fell short (though he made two pay jumps with his tiny returning stack).

Aaron Mahlfeldt – 86,000 (11 bb)
Amir Dukic – Eliminated in 12th Place ($3,115)

Event 6: Chris Tryba Eliminated by Kharlin Sued

$1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 18:  4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Players Remaining: 12 of 126

Chris Tryba open-shoved for 123,000 from early position and it folded to Kharlin Sued in the small blind. He thought for a minute, reshipped and Sheldon Gross folded his big blind.

Sued: ThTc
Tryba: KhQc

Sued was ahead with his pair of tens and dodged the over cards of Tryba to send him out in 13th place.

Kharlin Sued – 290,000 (36 bb)
Chris Tryba – Eliminated in 13th Place ($2,820)

Event 6: Howard Mash Triples Up

$1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining:  13 of 126

Richard Menjura raised under the gun to 12,000, and Howard Mash moved all in from the hijack for 22,000. Rebekah Emmons called from the button, and Menjura also called.

Both players checked to the river on a board of 10s8h2d10h8d, and all three players showed their cards.

Richard Menjura:  Js6s  (jack high)
Rebekah Emmons:  Kc4c  (king high)
Howard Mash:  Ah7d  (ace high)

Mash won the pot with his ace to triple up in chips.

Howard Mash  –  81,000  (14 bb)

Event 6: Amir Dukic Begins a Potential Comeback

$1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining:  13 of 126

There was no small blind this hand, and Richard Menjura raised under the gun. Amir Dukic called all in from the button for 7,000, and Rebekah Emmons called from the big blind, creating a side pot.

Both players checked to the river on a board of KsJc2s6h2d, and all three players showed their cards.

Richard Menjura:  10c8c  (ten high)
Rebekah Emmons:  4h3c  (four high)
Amir Dukic:  AsQc  (ace high)

Dukic won the pot with his ace to nearly quadruple up to 27,000.

Dukic was surprised and excited that he survived this all in, saying, “The Comeback Kid is coming!”

Amir Dukic  –  27,000  (5 bb)

A short while later, Dukic moved all in from the cutoff for 16,000, and it folded to Aaron Mahlfeldt in the big blind, who thought for a bit before he also folded.

Dukic was in utter disbelief that nobody called his shove that was only about 2 1/2 big blinds.

“What? What? Why? Why?” said Dukic. Mahlfeldt pointed to his own stack, which was only about 44,000, to indicate that he was saving his chips for a better spot.

Dukic tossed his cards on the table for everyone to see — AsAc. But he nearly doubled his stack from 16K to 31K.

Amir Dukic  –  31,000  (5 bb)
Aaron Mahlfeldt  –  44,000  (7 bb)

Event 6: Richard Menjura Knocks Out Two; Paul Domb Out 14th; Zach Mullennix Out 15th

$1,100 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed | Structure | Payouts
Level 17:  3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining:  13 of 126

Paul Domb
Paul Domb

Zach Mullennix moved all in from UTG+1 for 39,000, Richard Menjura called from the cutoff, and Paul Domb called from the big blind. Any further betting will create a side pot between Domb and Menjura.

The flop came Qd10d9c, and Domb thought for a while before moving all in for about 155,000. Menjura immediately called with a larger stack, and all three players showed their cards:

Richard Menjura:  KsKc  (overpair, gutshot straight draw)
Paul Domb:  AhQs  (pair of queens)
Zach Mullennix:  Kh8h  (gutshot straight draw)

The turn card was the 7c, giving Mullennix extra outs as he improved to an open-ended straight draw.

But the river card was the 8d, and the pocket kings held up for Menjura to win the entire pot, eliminating both of his opponents.

Richard Menjura  –  550,000  (92 bb)
Paul Domb  –  Eliminated in 14th Place  ($2,820)
Zach Mullennix  –  Eliminated in 15th Place  ($2,555)

At the start of play, Nashaat Antonious was moved from Table 10 to Table 9, seat 7 to balance the two tables at eight players each.

Stuart Young was all in preflop for 18,000 with Ks9c, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the 8h8c of Nashaat Antonious.

The board came Qc10d7c3s8s — Young flopped a gutshot straight draw, but improved no further. Antonious won the pot with a rivered set of eights to eliminate Young in 16th place.

Nashaat Antonious – 100,000  (17 bb)
Stuart Young  –  Eliminated in 16th Place  ($2,555)

Chris Perry

Event 6 was scheduled to end their night after Level 15 but they played some overtime poker to take care of some business. They were on the money bubble at the time and continue through more than a level and a half before it burst.

That means 16 players return today, in the money, with 17 minutes 55 seconds remaining in Level 17. The extended bubble means we have a few short stacks that will need to run it up but Chris Perry’s lead is comfortable.

They are playing for a piece of the $122,220 prize pool with everyone guaranteed $2,555 but shooting for the $35,355 top prize.

The tables will be balanced before cards go back in the air, here’s how they stand overnight.
