In the first hand of hand-for-hand play on the Money Bubble, Judith Bielan got it all in from the cutoff for 43,500 with 10s10d, and she needed it to hold to stay alive against her opponent’s 9h9d under the gun.

The board came AhQd3dJd4d, and Bielan was ahead the entire way as she won the pot with a ten-high diamond flush to double up in chips.

Neil Zonenashvili

Shortly before the dinner break, with the board showing 10d7d3c5c on the turn with more than 75,000 in the pot, Neil Zonenashvili moved all in from the small blind for 81,500, and his opponent in the hijack went into the tank.

While he waited, Zonenashvili let out a loud wail, with sort of an “Aaaaaaahhh” sound like you might hear at a haunted house. It attracted the attention of a floorperson, and when he wailed again, the floorperson said, “English only at the table.”

Eventually, another player at the table called for a clock, and when the 30-second countdown reached zero, the hijack’s hand was declared dead.

Zonenashvili showed KdKc for an overpair as he took the pot.

“I had queens,” said the player in the hijack.

Zonenashvili responded, “I know you had queens!”

With about 72 players remaining from a field of 392, the average chip stack is about 109,000 (55 big blinds). The final 66 players will finish in the money, guaranteed at least $785 each.

Brian Altman

They keep showing up for the six-max tournament and we keep finding seats for them. The tournament easily tripled the $50,000 guarantee and working on quadrupling with a little effort.

We found the last two WPT Players of the Year in the field sitting at adjoining tables. Brian Altman was the reigning POY for the tour and he held that title through the lockdown until Jake Ferro came along to trade spots. Ferro was named the current POY earlier this year with a lot of help coming from his second-place finish in our WPT RRPO Championship.

As expected when we have a big series, we see plenty of regular faces from our neighbor across the state in Tampa. They are a big part of our success and they are out in force this afternoon.

So far we found Karl Manouchakian, Wally Maddah, Jeremy Becker, Anthony Askey, and Jacob Naumann in the crowd and expect many more. To the delight of the rest of the short-handed table, Maddah and Becker were seated together and the rest of the players are enjoying the fun.

Eric Walling was one of the first to take a seat not long after adding a trophy to his list of accomplishments. The Tampa poker regular earned his first Hollywood title last night when he earn top prize in the $600 Deep Stack tournament.

Thomas Gari grabbed a seat in Event 14 for his second tournament of the day. Apparently he decided the short-handed was more to his liking than the Seniors Event where he started.
