The fourth of eight flights for SHRPO Event 1 goes at 6 pm and we will watch for some big numbers. The $400 buy-in Deep Stack tournament has drawn huge numbers, 2,258 over the first three flights, and will likely hit the $1,000,000 guarantee later this evening.

After that, we can start looking at a record-breaking turnout with four huge weekend flights.

Players start with 20,000 deep stacks and all Day 1 levels last 30 minutes, going up to 40 minutes at the start of Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:30 pm. Flight D will continue until only 10% of the field remains and those players will bag up their chips for a Day 2 return on Sunday at 1 pm in the money.

It quieted down in the Grand Ballroom; registration closed for Flight C of Event 1 and the Limit Omaha 8 tournament was on dinner break. Then the $150 Big Stack kicked off and we had another rush to the tables.

They are close to hitting the $30,000 long before registration closes and we have some friendly faces in the group including Barry Roth, Noah Piderit, Wally Maddah, and Solange Lucas.

We continue to provide tournament action for those who cannot play during the afternoon and many of our Poker Room regulars come out for the smaller buy-in, big-money tournaments. We have another tonight at 5 pm with the $150 Big Stack which features a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool and a chance to play in the Championship with a $5,300 seat added to first place.

Alicia Goldstein got it all in from the big blind for exactly 40,000 with 10s10d, but she needed to improve to stay alive against the KdKc of her opponent in middle position, who had her covered with a stack of 43,500.

We will get through the first two days of the SHRPO series and already have three Omaha trophies handed out. Plenty of that four-card poker on the schedule.

The next one gets underway at 3 pm with a $400 Eight-Handed Pot Limit Omaha tournament with big stacks and a nice structure.

For this one-day tournament, they’ll start with 15,000 stacks out front and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 7:30 pm. They will battle throughout the night and not shut down until we have our Event 6 champion.
