While we were wrapping up Event 5 in the back of the room, the $1,700 Deepest Stack was cruising right along. We have 41 entries in the game and the 27 remaining players were sent on a 40-minute dinner break.
Courtland Twyman leads the field with 193,000 and Shaun Davis is a close second with 172,000.
They will play six more levels before bagging up for Day 2.

We moved out of the morning hours and into the afternoon and we have a nice little turnout for a Thursday. We have 20 people up put up their $1,700 nice and early today, trying to spin up a stack to play against those who come later.

The biggest game on the schedule gets underway at 11 am with Flight A of the Deep Stack Poker Series Main Event. It is a $1,700 buy-in Deepest Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, three starting flights, and a long, slow structure.
Players sit with 50K starting stacks and all Day 1 levels last 40 minutes, increasing to 60 on Day 2 and 90 minutes in Level 23. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Day 2 on Sunday at 11 am.
They will play through 14 levels and survivors return on Sunday.
