SHRP regular Max Romano is having a good start to his day. We heard some commotion from across the room and found him stacking up and impressive castle already. Romano is over 100,000 from his 20,000 starting stack and they haven’t made the first break yet. A very fine start.

Meanwhile, the Event Center continues to pack them in with nearly 150 new entries in the last 30 minutes. We are well ahead of last year’s Flight E pace which drew 758 entries and we have a chance to crack the all-time top ten for single flight entries.

There’s still no slowdown on the parade of entries into Flight E and the total Event 1 field size quickly jumped over 2,000 with the prize pool nearly at $1.1 million.

We have friends visiting from outside the area and they are a welcome addition to the field. We usually see Andra Zachow grinding at our sister property in Tampa but she made her way across the state with Mark Winchell for her first shot at a Hollywood title.

Nearby we poker internet info wonder Kevin “Kevmath” Mather’s playing his first No Limit Hold’em tournament of the series. He took shots in the Omaha 8 and H.O.R.S.E. tournament, now for some two-card poker.

We didn’t think it would take long but Event 1 hit the guarantee even faster than expected. Less than halfway through the first level of the day, the Event 1 prize pool officially topped $1,000,000 with a long long time to spin it up.

The first Saturday of the series is here and we expect a packed house throughout the day. The last two flights of Event 1 go at 11 am and 6 pm and the $600 buy-in tournament will hit its $1,000,000 Guarantee early.

The tournament drew a combined 1,606 entries over the first four flights to leave it only 281 shy of the magic number, it should get there well before the first break. From that point forward the prize pool will continue to climb higher until registration on Flight F locks down later tonight.

Players will sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and all Day 1 levels run 30 minutes long, increasing to 40 minutes on Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm. Flight E will come to a close after Level 14 and survivors will return for Day 2 along with the other 255 players who already booked a spot.

Cards go in the air at 11 am and it will be a fun, busy time in the Event Center.

Flight D came to an end with 75 players remaining, and the big stack belongs to Nader Bahhur, who bagged up 330,500 (83 bb).

Raminder Singh appears to have finished second in this flight with 282,000 (71 bb).

A scan of the field in Flight D turned up a lot of familiar faces, like Frankie Flowers, Nipun Java, Jeff Trudeau, Mike Beasley, Dave Inselberg, John Holley, Scott Efron, Matt Zarcadoolas, and John Gorsuch, who won the WSOP Millionaire Maker for more than $1.3 million this summer.

There are also some notable players we’re seeing for the first time this series, including Sheddy Siddiqui, Brian Hastings, Ronit Chamani, and Jessica Dawley.
