$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 6: 300/600 with a 600 ante Flight B Entries: 232
With 232 entries in Flight B, they are closing in towards to magic number of 500 combined to hit the guarantee. It will hit this afternoon, now the question is if it gets there before or after the next break in 30 minutes.
We continue to see more of our regulars join the series for the first time including SHRP favorite Al Gomez. He’s always having a good time and can win some cash while enjoying himself. Gomez latest score came earlier this year win he finished second in the $250 Seminole Hard Rock Escalator Series event.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 5: 300/500 with a 500 ante Flight B Entries: 210
The count continued to climb after the break and we are on the verge of hitting the magic number of 251 to notch the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. At this rate, doubling up that number is a possibility when you consider the huge Saturday crowd we expect tomorrow.
The field is not getting any softer and we found two more of our successful regulars taking their first shot of the series.
Abbey Daniels hit the big time here in Hollywood back in 2011. She made the big WPT televised final table during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and binked a solid $286K payout. She has tournament wins from around the state including a Fun in the Sun win right here and a WPT Regional score at our sister room in Coconut Creek.
Nancy Thomas has a handful of final table appearances in our major events but none bigger than last January. She went deep in the 4,756-entry opening tournament during the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open, one of the biggest fields in state history, and took home more than $100,000 for a runner-up finish.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 4: 200/400 with a 400 ante Flight B Entries: 186
Walking amongst the table during the break, it was pretty obvious which stack was the biggest. Some were inching towards the 100K mark but Chad Millward blasted past in.
He ran his 30,000 stack to over 130,000 in the first two hours of play for a fine start to his day.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 3: 200/300 with a 300 ante Flight B Entries: 178
It’s time for the first break of the day with 180 entries on the horizon. A nice number to leave the Event 1 field only 70 away from making the $150,000 with plenty of time to run it up.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 3: 200/300 with a 300 ante Flight B Entries: 140
Things are moving right along in the poker room and Flight B is on a steady pace to beat yesterday’s opening number of 249. With late registration open until the start of Day 2 on Sunday, we should have no problem hitting the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool later this evening.
John Magnetta was one of the recent additions and his last tournament result was a victory. The SHRP regular padded his stats a bit last month when he closed out April with a win in our $130 Big Stack event. Magnetta also owns two titles from the 2012 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and he cashed big with a fifth-place finish in the opening event of our WSOP Circuit series in September.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 2: 100/200 with a 200 ante Flight B Entries: 123
The early numbers look great for the second flight of Event 1 with more than 100 entries in the first level and it continued to climb with a steady line at the registration desk.
Nancy Birnbaum and Jacquelyn Scott are two of the more successful players in early action and they are sharing a table, separated only by the dealer.
Birnbaum owns three WSOP Circuit rings plus two runner-up finishes and two handfuls of final table appearances. Scott only has one tournament title to her credit, but it was a doozy. She won the WSOP Ladies Championship in the summer of 2015 for more than $150,000.
$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) $150,000 Guaranteed | Structure Level 1: 100/100
The May Deep Stack Poker Series is rolling into its first weekend which means it is time for the second flight of the $150,000 Guarantee opening event.
The $350 buy-in tournament drew 249 entries yesterday to put it nearly halfway to the guaranteed prize pool with two more flights to go. Only 28 made it through the initial session and we expect a few more later this evening.
Entrants sit down to 30,000 starting stacks and the tournament runs 40-minute levels on Day 1. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Day 2 on Sunday, so plenty of time to get to the poker room before Flight B is through after Level 15.
Cards are in the air and we’ll let know how it goes from start to finish.
