Event 10, Day 1F: The Biggest First-Break Chipleaders Yet

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

At the first break, the Day 1F field has increased to 482 entries, which means this event has eclipsed last year’s field size with time to spare.

And the chips appear to be flying much more than they have in the earlier flights, because there were so many players with at least 50,000 in chips (our usual leaderboard cutoff) that we had to restrict it to players with at least 60,000 in chips (or knocking on the door of 60K). That still gives us a full leaderboard of 13 players, including one — Said Omar — that somehow more than quintupled his stack in the first four levels of play.

1.  Said Omar  –  108,275  (361 bb)
2.  Dan Ishaki  –  86,675  (289 bb)
3.  Cody Ferguson  –  83,475  (278 bb)
4.  Daniel Clemente  –  75,325  (251 bb)
5.  Liridon Ramadani  –  71,525  (238 bb)
6.  Aaron Flamand  –  64,725  (216 bb)
7.  Mohammed Takmani  –  64,000  (213 bb)
8.  Michael Merisier  –  60,600  (202 bb)
9.  Guellermo Santos  –  60,575  (202 bb)
10.  Dustin Nelson  –  60,500  (202 bb)
11.  Giorgio Medici  –  60,425  (201 bb)
12.  Vinny Trinh  –  59,800  (199 bb)
13.  Willie Wiggins  –  59,775  (199 bb)

Said Omar
Chipleader Said Omar turned a 20K starting stack into 108K in just two hours.

Dan Ishaki
Dan Ishaki was second in chips at the first break with 86,675

Cody Ferguson
In most of these starting flights, Cody Ferguson would have been the first-break chipleader with 83,475. But today it’s only good enough for third place.

The field will play 14 levels today, with action ending around 1:45 am. Registration remains open until the end of the second break (about 10:30 pm), when we’ll finally learn how large this field can get — and how big the prizepool can get.

Event 10 Day 1F: No One Said It Was Easy

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

With 500 entries in tonight’s 1F, a few tough matchups are bound to happen.  At this particular table, we spotted Errol “XXX” Massey facing off with a former Seminole Hard Rock champion Carlos Loving and Frank DeGeorge who made a deep run in Event 1 earlier in the series.

We’ll see who comes out of this battle ahead as the evening wears on.

Event 10 Day 1F: Hiding Away

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300/25 Ante

Aside from Edina Pantinchin who is currently stuck in the corner of the ballroom, we found a couple of other great players tucked away in the back nearby.

Event 1 Champion Jorge Gomez is making a last run reaching Day 2 tonight.  Also here is James Shucart who just won his first main event title at a series in Naples-Ft. Myers just a couple of weeks ago and is looking to continue his success here at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Event 10 Day 1F: First Break

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

The players in Day 1F have just headed for the doors on the first break.  465 entries are on the board already as the $1,000,000 guarantee is long since a memory.

Everyone is spending their break in the own way to relax, get caught up with friends or just waste some time chilling like Ryan Tepen who joined us over in Media Row for some alone time.

Event 10, Day 1F: Early Faces in the Crowd

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

With three levels complete in the final starting flight of Event 10, there are already 417 entries, increasing the overall field size to 2,722. That means the field is just 45 entries away from equaling last year’s field in this same event. (The smart money is that this year’s field will be larger.)

This is the last chance for all the players who have taken multiple shots at reaching Day 2, and it’s the first and only chance for players like Edina Patinchin (a.k.a. @RealPokerBunny) who are taking their first shot in the final flight of Event 10.

Here are some of the notable players who have already joined the field:

Michael Wang  –  45,000  (225 bb)

Event 10 Day 1E: Play Over, Roger Stewart Leads Flight

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

After some big action to close out the last few hands of the flight, Roger “Doc” Stewart blasted his way to the top of the charts bagging 358,000 to win the flight and become the overall leader in the tournament.

Pasquale Caiazza won a three-way hand with aces over kings over a suited jack-nine to end up with 285,000.  Alex Step bagged 247,000 and TJ Shulman was right behind him with 245,000.

Also finishing strong were Rob Lebeau with 231,000 and Larry Hirschfield with 213,000. Harjinder Chawla bagged 208,000 and Alan Dworetsky put away an even 200,000 to round the top stacks in the room.

134 players advanced out of the 736 entries into Day 1E.  2305 entries have now been tallied in the event through this flight with 430 players headed on to Sunday.

Congratulations to all of our players that advanced to Day 2!

Event 10 Day 1E: Efron Back and Running Well

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

Scott Efron was a regular in the big Seminole Hard Rock Poker series in the past but we didn’t see him at all the first week this time around. A slight cause for concern but we ran into him this morning at the start of Flight 1E.

Efron is trending nicely with 150,000 and in line to bag as they head into the final hands of the flight. He only has one final table in any of our series but he scored big this summer during tournament at the Venetian, a fourth place finish which earned him nearly $180,000.

Event 10 Day 1F: Early Flyers

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

Flight 1F crossed over 250 entrants before the start of Level 2, pushing the prize pool up near $1.3 million with more than four hours of late registration and re-entry available.

We noticed several familiar faces from the earlier flight including Daren Stabinsky, Adam Rouse, and Early Barron. Joe Serock is back to play and a big final table run will likely push his career earnings over $3 million.

Event 10 Day 1E: Quarter Million Dollar Man

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 1,000/2,000/300 Ante

Everyone in the room is trying to chase down as many chips as they can to bag for Day 2. Right now it looks like they’re all chasing Kevin Deng.

Deng has two full stacks of the 5k chips in front of him and current sits at 250,000.  We’ll see if Deng can hang on finish as the flight’s chip leader in about 40 mintues.

Event 10 Day 1F: Final Flight

$570 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

The last flight of the huge-field Event 10 is underway with the $1,000,000 guarantee already met. Every player entered now is just pushing the prize pool higher with 2,305 already involved.

It will be tough to be the afternoon flight which drew 736 entrants but we can expect high 600’s, low 700’s before registration is officially closed on this tournament.

Flight 1F players begin with 20,000 stacks and grind 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until approximately 10:30pm and then we’ll know exactly how much money is on the line.

The tournament will stop at the end of Level 14 and those with chips will return tomorrow at 1pm for Day 2.
