Event 16: Good Call

$2,200 Buy-In Six-Max No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out

Level 17: Blinds 2k/4k/500 ante

It’s slow going as each hand gets serious consideration.  With only four players on each table who all want to make the final table of seven, no one wants to make a mistake here.

On the river with a board of Tc7h3sThAc Tony March (sb) bet 22k.  John DiBella (button) called.  Tony said “good call” and mucked when John showed pocket 4s.

Event 16: Karim Down But Not Out

$2,200 Buy-In Six-Max No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out

Level 16: Blinds 1,500/3,000/500 ante

Corey Burbick got all-in for 82k pre-flop holding KcQc in the big blind.  Zo Karim (button) had him covered and was holding pocket Jacks.

The board came Qs9c9d8cQh and Corey doubled up.  Zo was left short with about 25k.  He got all-in on the next hand with no callers.

Then Zo was all-in from the big blind holding Jd8s against Moe Maghraoui (sb) who held Qh9c.  The board came 7h6c4hJh5d and Zo rivered a straight to double up to ~60k.

In a limped blind v blind hand, Zo (sb) took a pot from Joe Kuether (bb) when he flopped a pair of 8s.

No one is giving an inch in this game.  The final nine seem determined to battle for every pot.

John DiBella and Tony March (button) got to the turn with a board of KsTs8hQc and John bet 13k.  After some thought, Tony called.

River was the Qd and both checked.  Tony showed Jc8c for a pair of 8s to go with the Queens on board.  John rolled over AsKh for Kings-up to take the pot.
