That’s a Wrap on the 2016 Lucky Hearts

Trophy

The 2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open began January 7 with the first of 15 primary events. The series opener – a $350 Ultimate No Limit Hold’em tournament – drew a record-breaking field of 4,075 entries. The massive turnout not only generated a prize pool of more than $1,000,000, but it marked the largest field in Florida poker history. Philadelphia’s Thai Ha went on to win the event and its $230,423 top prize.

From there, the next headline went to the $1,100 championship. The WPTDeepStacks Main Event saw a 1,684-entry field shatter the $1,000,000 guarantee before topping the prize pool out at $1,633,480. Salomon Ponte, a Toronto-based CPA, was the last player standing as he took home the trophy along with a $344,420 score.
