Two hours are gone in the first flight of the $1,000,000 Event 1 and the field is closing in on 200 entrants. TJ Shulman is quickly on his second bullet after running into quads not long after taking his first seat.

Other new arrivals include Natasha Barbour, Elliott Zaydman, Steven McKoy, and Oleg Vayman.

Four more levels of late registration or re-entry available along with Flight 1B kicking off at 6pm. First break chip counts and leaders will be posted shortly.

The big man in the room right now is Noah Schwartz. The local pro took his seat shortly after the noon hour and is looking to continue a very good week.

Schwartz went over $5,000,000 in career earnings earlier this week when he won the $100,000 buy-in WPT Alpha8 Florida event here last weekend. The $585,000 first place prize was the biggest of a career which also includes a WSOP and WPT title.

Family Fun

A few more locals put their money down to play some poker today and we have a family affair in both tournaments running. Angela Prada-Moed and Michael Moed each have seats with Angela playing in Event 1 while her husband plays a little Omaha/8 in Event 2.

Angela has plenty of results to her credit including five cashes and two final tables during last summer’s WSOP. Michael’s résumé shows six Omaha/8 titles including one in each of the last two Lucky Heart series.

When the two aren’t beating down opponents at the table, the two own Sweet Times Cupcakes in Miami. A popular destination for those looking to get their baked goods fix.

Event 2: Split Pot Fun

Level 1: 50/100 Limits

While most of the room is mixing it up in the big $1,000,000 Guarantee Event 1, a smaller group of players are now taking their shot with some four-card action.

The first non-Hold’em tournament of the series features Limit Omaha/8 for a fun day of split pots. It will be a smaller field but most will be experienced in this special variant.

They start off with 15,000 stacks, 40-minute levels, and a $20,000 guaranteed prize pool. Late registration or re-entry is available until the start of Level 7 giving them plenty of room to work or get back in.

Robert Campbell (Miami, FL) will be one to watch as it gets underway. He has ten career tournaments wins with all of them coming in Omaha/8 tournaments including the $250 Pot Limit Omaha/8 during the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Players moved into the second level while some are waiting until local time is no longer in the AM. The early flight players are in no particular hurry to gamble it up on with plenty of chips in action.

It’s also a bit of a reunion as a host of regulars are back in the ballroom for another big series. Some of those in the early action include Ory Hen, Eric Piderit, and Daren Stabinski.

Stabinski is freerolling this event after his high finish on the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” leaderboard. He has three results during that series with a 1st and 2nd place showing a week apart.

The 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open is underway with the start of Event 1. The series kicks off with a big tournament featuring a $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool , $570 buy-in, and six starting flights.

Players begin with 25,000 in their stacks, a nice 500 big blind start Level 1, and play 30-minute levels. Late registration or re-entry is available until the start of Level 9 or approximate 3:30 this afternoon. They are scheduled to run through 14 levels for the flight unless they edge towards 14% of the starting field remaining.

Tournament staff issued the play instructions and cards in the air for Event 1.

WPTDeepStacks Kicks-Off 2015 Tour During 21-Event Series

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (December 10, 2014) – The Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open (LHPO) returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida January 22 – February 11, 2015 held in the resort’s ballrooms. The series will feature 21 main events along with several secondary events and qualifiers. The exciting live poker action culminates with the Seminole Hard Rock WPT Lucky Hearts $3 Million Guaranteed Championship begins February 5 – February 11, with a $3,500 buy-in and three starting flights. The annual series kicks-off on January 22 at 11a.m. with a four-day $570 buy-in Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em event featuring a $1,000,000 Guaranteed prize pool with six starting flights.

Super Bowl weekend will bring even more action with the WPTDeepStacks (WPTDS) which will kick-off its 2015 tour at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. WPTDS is a one-of-a-kind partnership between the world’s most established poker tour, WPT® and the world’s fastest growing poker tour, DSPT.The $1,100 buy-in, $300,000 Guarantee WPTDeepStacks-Hollywood will start January 29 at 12 p.m. in the resort’s ballrooms.

Other highlight tournaments include a $350 buy-in Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em, $250,000 Guarantee with five starting flights, from January 25 – January 28 and a two-day $150 buy-in No Limit Hold’em $150,000 Guarantee with eight starting flights from January 28 – January 31.

Satellite events for the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship will be held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood January 22 – February 7, 2015.

The 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open tournament series will kick-off on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the ballrooms. The series features twenty one main events along with several satellite events and exciting live poker action.

All action culminates with the $3 Million Guaranteed WPT Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship event from February 5, 2015 through February 11, 2015.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to Host WPT Alpha8 Florida Super High-Roller Tournament

$100,000 Buy-In World Poker Tour® Event Runs January 17-18, 2015

Hollywood, FL (December 8, 2014) – After making its worldwide introduction in August 2013 during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open series, WPT Alpha8™ returns to Hollywood, Florida for another televised $100,000 buy-in event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on January 17 and 18, 2015. WPT Alpha8 Florida will feature poker’s top professional players competing alongside the world’s wealthiest amateurs, with unlimited reentries and a massive prize pool. Last year, American Steven Silverman won the historic first WPT Alpha8 event at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, earning more than $890,000.

“WPT Alpha8 Florida is another significant poker event that supports our continued efforts of bringing the best in poker play anywhere in the U.S., here, to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. For those who want to compete in the exclusive tournament without having to ante up $100,000, they can try their luck at winning a seat into WPT Alpha8 Florida by playing in one of several event qualifiers.

QUALIFIER SCHEDULE:
Step I Qualifier ($130 buy-in):
January 4, 8, and 9 at 6 p.m. and January 9 at 12 p.m. Five seats guaranteed into the January 14 Step II Qualifier.

Step II Qualifier ($1,100 buy-in):
January 14 at 12 p.m. Five seats guaranteed into the January 16 Step III Qualifier.

Step III Qualifier ($10,300 buy-in):
January 16 at 12 p.m. Two seats guaranteed into WPT Alpha8 Florida on January 17.

Freeroll Tournament (January 9):

Players qualify by playing 60+ hours of poker in the Seminole Hard Rock poker room from December 1 through January 4. First and second place finishers receive a $10,300 entry into the Step III Qualifier on January 16. The 3rd to 21st-place finishers receive a $1,100 entry into the Step II Qualifier on January 14.
