2024 LHPO in Review

Raminder Singh hoists the LHPO Championship trophy (that thing is not light)

We kicked off the new year with the 2024 Lucky Hearts Poker Open series, which featured 52 trophy events over 13 days with nearly $4.5 million in guaranteed prize money.

Events: 52
Entries: 12,412
Guarantees: $4,480,000
Prize Pools: $11,158,855

A lot of money was paid out, but our players made all of our tournaments a huge success. They gave us plenty of stories, starting with our headliner, the LHPO Championship.

The $3,500 buy-in tournament featured a $2,000,000 guarantee with two starting flights and a lot of travelers in town for the games and good weather and took a seat next to our local regulars.

Buy-in: $3,500
Entries: 1,188
Guarantee: $2,000,000
Prize Pool: $3,801,600

This tournament created one of the most talented Championship final tables in our history and had everything you could want. WSOP bracelets and High Roller monsters and cash game experts and one local legend.

Raminder Singh began the series in sole position of the top spot on our all-time major wins list. His ten titles paced the field, but early on, Yuval Bronshtein and Michael Newman captured their tenth to tie him.

But Singh made a statement in the Championship; he captured the LHPO title, earned $486,353 and stands alone once again on our leaderboard.

It was a masterful performance, and he is more than worthy of returning to the top.

Other notable wins include a race for history on the last day of the series. Phil Hui, John Fauver, and Frederic all won two LHPO trophies in the last two weeks and were the last three players in the $1,100 Eight-Game Mix tournament.

Moss outlasted his two tough opponents and became only the fourth player in our history to win three titles in the same series.

2012 Showdown – Julio Fernandez
2012 RRPO – Atanael Thomas
2023 RRPO – Matt Bretzfield
2024 LHPO – Frederic Moss

Frederic Moss booked 1, 2, and 3 LHPO wins

Singh’s brief time tied on the win list began when Yuval Bronshtein caught him after he won the $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha title and Michael Newman won the $200 Big Stack.

Interesting note: Singh finished second in the $400 Turbo while Newman won the Big Stack. So Singh was one bad beat away from having 12 wins by the end of the series.

Raminder Singh – 11 wins
Michael Newman – 10 wins
Yuval Bronshtein – 10 wins
David Shmuel – 9 wins
John Holley – 8 wins
Matt Bretzfield – 8 wins
Four tied – 7 wins

Kevin MacDonald bagged in Flight A of the $400 Deep Stack opening event, won the $400 Turbo NLH that night, then returned for the Deep Stack and won that four days later.

Alex Foxen won the $25,500 High Roller NLH, Matt Glantz won the $10,000 High Roller PLO, and Upeshka De Silva won the $10,000 Deep Stack NLH.

With 52 trophy events, there was no end to the great stories and those are just a few. You can check the full list of results and updates linked below.

We can never thank you enough for your support and for making each series a huge success; our players are the best.

We look forward to seeing you at the Escalator Series in a few days and the 2024 Poker Showdown from April 3 through April 23!
