The WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open is down to 53 players from the starting 911 entries and it’s a pretty stacked field we have lined up.
Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Ben Yu returns with the chip lead to start to Day 3 after a blistering last level on Day 2. With one level to go in Day 2, he was down to only 80,000 and ran that up to 1,382,000 by the time they bagged up.
Joey Couden began Day 2 with the chip lead and he didn’t fall off. He has the second biggest stack with SHRP trophy winner Qasem Jamhour in third, WPT Champions Club member Andjelki Andrejevic in fourth, and SHRP regular Mike Chiappetta rounding out the top five.
The rest of the top ten includes high roller Rainer Kempe, two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner John Richards, HPT champ Nick Schwarmann, and WPTDeepStacks Lucky Hearts Poker Open final table member Ness Reilly.
The other 43 players aren’t too shabby either.
Day 3 will see levels increase to 90 minutes and the Action Clock is still in play. Players bagged their remaining time bank chips last night and they will reset once we have 24 players.
Today’s schedule is simple; work our way through five 90-minute levels and see who’s around at the end of the day. After Level 25, they will stop the clock for a Day 4 return tomorrow to play down to the final table six.
Cards go back in the air at noon and we will have all the action.
