The full list of official chip counts will be posted later tonight, but here’s the top seven chip stacks (everyone with at least 300K) from Flight E:

1.  Alejandro Funes  –  544,000  (68 bb)
2.  Greg Rosen  –  381,000  (48 bb)

Incredibly, Stephen Ibrahim has survived four of the first five starting flights, and he’s received $2,500 for each chip stack after the first — $7,500, plus whatever he makes with his largest stack (331,000) that survived to Day 2.

The surviving players are all guaranteed at least $700 for a min-cash on Day 2, though the full prizepool won’t be available until registration has closed in all eight starting flights.

Alejandro Funes Knocks Out the Bubble
Alejandro Funes (left) knocked out the unfortunate bubble finisher (right).

After an elimination dropped the field down to 68 players, Tournament Director Tony Burns announced that all tables should finish the hands in progress before hand-for-hand play could begin for the end-of-day Money Bubble.

But one of the tables had already begun a hand taht would lead to an all-in situation.

Chipleader Alejandro Funes raised from the cutoff to 18,000, the player on the button moved all in for 115,000, and Funes tanked for a while before he called with AcQc.

The player on the button turned over KhQs, and was dominated as he faced elimination on the Money Bubble.

The board came Ah10s5d3d2c — the player on the button flopped a gutshot straight draw, but improved no further. Funes won the pot with a pair of aces to eliminate his opponent, catapult above 500K, and burst the Money Bubble, bringing Flight E to a conclusion.

The Ladies Event is into the ninth level of the day and time is running out to get into the action. We have 72 entries so far, a great turnout for the special event.

Sachi Botner looks like the current leader with 65,000 and she has some competition on her right in Nancy Thomas. She picked up the biggest score of her career in the same event as the previously mentioned Jerry Wong. Thomas made the first Ultimate Re-Entry final table in 2017 and finished second for nearly $110,000.

Jerry Wong

They are running out the clock in Level 12 and players will take another break once it hits zero. Registration will close on Flight E when they return and the 674 we have already is a big number.

It includes former November Niner Jerry Wong, the first ever Ultimate Re-Entry champ. We first ran this format during the 2017 Lucky Hearts Poker Open and it drew 4,756 entries for the second biggest field in Florida poker history. Wong dominated late and took home a quarter of a million dollars in a four-way deal.

Of course for Wong, that wasn’t close to his biggest score. That would be his eighth-place finish at the 2016 WSOP Main Event final table for $1.1 million.
