Level 28: 30,000/50,000 with a 10,000 ante
Players Remaining: 33 of 3,030

Peter Eichhardt

Zack Fish moved all in from the cutoff for about 500,000 and Peter Eichhardt called from the small blind. Robert Manjura was in the big blind with about 280,000. He thought for a few moments and called as well.

All three hands were tabled with two players all in. Eicchardt showed QsQd and was in the lead against Fish’s As7c and Majura’s KcQh.

The board ran out clean for Eichhardt as it came Js8h6s6cTs. He won the pot with a pair of queens and eliminated two players in the process. Manjura started the hand with the smaller stack, so he will take the worse of the two finishes.

Manjura was eliminated in 35th and Fish earned a 34th place finish.

Peter Eichhardt – 5,600,000
Robert Manjura – Eliminated
Zack Fish – Eliminated

Event 1: Ioannis Patsourakis Doubles Up

$1,000,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 28: 30,000/50,000 with a 10,000 ante

Ioannis Patsourakis

A player in early position moved all in for about 700,000 and Ioannis Patsourakis called, all in for for 455,000.

Everybody else gets out of the way and the cards are tabled. Patsourakis is in a dominating position with his AhJd against his opponent’s KsJs.

The Kd is the window card, but it’s followed by the Ac and the Ts. For just a second, it looked like Patsourakis was going to get three-outed, but he flopped top pair to leave his opponent with just two outs to win the pot outright.

The turn was the 2h and the river was the Ad. Patsourakis doubled up with trip aces.

Ioannis Patsourakis – 1,090,000

Jami Kopacz

Local player Jami Kopacz has had a strong last couple of levels and has emerged as one of the bigger stacks remaining as the field inches closer to a final table.

In a previous pot, he rivered a full house against trip eights to double up to around 3 million.

In a more recent pot, the player under the gun raised to 120,000. Kopacz called on the button and the player in the big blind three-bet to 295,000. The original raiser folded and Kopacz called.

The flop was 5s5h3h and the big blind bet 255,000. Kopacz called. The turn was the Ts and the big blind bet again, this time 375,000. Kopacz called.

“What do you have?” asked the big blind.

Kopacz didn’t respond to the question and the river was the Ks. The big blind checked and Kopacz bet 500,000. The big blind snap-called.

“Quads, baby,” said Kopacz, tabling 5c5d.

The big blind mucked his hand and the local grinder is among the biggest stacks in the room just before the level ended and the remaining players take a break.

Jami Kopacz – 4,250,000

William Black, Event 5 Champion

The first turbo tournament on the 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown schedule played out true to its name. Fast. The $300 buy-in Deep Stack Turbo Event 5 drew 187 entries and William Black dominated the final table to win the title after a three-way deal.

“As it got down to these last couple tables you were dealing with nothing but top-notch players,” Black commented about his win. “It came down to patience and a little bit of luck.”

Black began the final table with more than double the amount of chips than that of the second place player and he never slipped up. The final table also featured poker media guru Kevin “Kevmath” Mathers, John Magnetta with three wins this year so far, and SHRP regular Craig Witz.

But none could get past Black’s big stack as players dropped at a rapid pace. There was some talk of a chop when they were five-handed before Joseph Montervino and Christopher Collins hit the payout desk. The last three players came to an agreement to divide up the remaining prize pool with Black earning $10,500 plus the title. Mathers and Gil Nachum split the rest of the money in half with Mathers officially taking the second spot.

Black is a contractor from Texas and came to the Sunshine State to play the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.

“I actually came down here specifically for the series,” Black said. “and we did a little skydiving before.”

Congratulations to Black and everyone who took home some money from the Sunday afternoon turbo.

Schuyler Thornton

Schuyler Thornton was in the hijack and got into a preflop confrontation with Jaime Urbina in on the button. Urbina got all in for about 500,000 and got action from Thornton.

Thornton showed KhKc and was in the lead against Urbina’s AsJs.

The flop came QdTs7c and Urbina flopped a straight draw to go with his overcard. The turn was the Qc, which took away the straight draw since it would give Thornton a full house.

The river was the Kd and Urbina made Broadway, but was eliminated by Thornton’s kings full of queens.

“I like that turn card,” joked Thornton after the hand.

Thornton won the pot, eliminated Urbina in 91st place, and became one of the biggest stacks remaining. Urbina earned $2,273 for his finish.

Jaime Urbina – Eliminated
