Event 19: Ricardo Nakamura – 6th Place ($2,480)

$570 Big Stack Pot Limit Omaha Six-Max (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 3,000/6,000

Action didn’t go crazy between Ricardo Nakamura and Charles until the dealer put out the 8d4h2c flop. Then both players got the chips in the middle. Nakamura was ahead with bottom two Td9d4c2s against AhJh7h5d.

Nakamura improved his two pair on the 9h turn but Sinn came behind for a straight thanks to the Tc river. It took Nakamura a second to realize he tournament was down in 6th place for $2,480.

Eli Levy heads into the final two tables with the chip lead holding 6.285 million in chips. Levy has had recent success here having won Event #7 back on the 12th but the $3,945 he won for that victory will pale in comparison to what he’ll take home for his finish this week.

One seat to his left tomorrow will be Griffin Paul who is second in chips with 6.055 million. Rounding out the top three is Shawn Nguyen who has 4.19 million in chips. Play will resume at noon local time later today. Here’s the full seating assignments and chip counts:

Championship Day 3: Steven McKoy Eliminated

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 27: 25,000/50,000/5,000 Ante

Steven McKoy opened for 110,000 and Cornel Cimpan moved all in for 330,000. Vladimir Dobrovolskii re-shoved and the action was folded back to McKoy who took a moment before saying “I’m never folding this” and making the call, his tournament life at risk since Dobrovolskii had him covered.

McKay had AcKh, Cimpan JdJh, and Dobrovolskii TcTs. The board ran out Qd8d2c5c6s and Cimpan tripled up while Dobrovolskii’s tens were enough to win the side pot.

Players are re-drawing for the final two tables and bagging and tagging. We’ll have the updated chip counts and new seating assignments momentarily.

Championship Day 3: Uri Tenenboim Eliminated

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 26: 20,000/40,000/5,000 Ante

We didn’t catch the exact amounts but Uri Tenenboim opened pre-flop for a raise and would call the three-bet from Eli Levy. The flop came Js4s2s and Tenenboim checked. Levy casually waved his arms as he said “all in” and it was Tenenboim who was at risk as Levy was the biggest stack in the room.

Tenenboim didn’t think too long before calling and turning over KdQs for two overs with a flush draw with his Qs. He was in all kinds of trouble though as Levy had AsAd. “Oh, he has that,” sighed Tenenboim, knowing his tournament was over unless some miracle came.

The turn was the 6s and there would be no miracle. The dealer put out the meaningless Jh on the river and Tenenboim was eliminated in 20th place. One more elimination and they will stop play for the evening.

Championship Day 3: Heimiller Hits River Jack Again

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 26: 20,000/40,000/5,000 Ante

Dan Heimiller moved all in from the button for 355,000 and was called by Shawn Nguyen out of the small blind. The big blind folded and Heimiller turned over Jc4h and proclaimed “at least I have live cards” when he saw Nguyen’s KdTc.

The flop came Qh8h2c to keep Nguyen in the lead. The turn was the 8d and Heimiller stood up, ready to depart. The river though was the Jh.

“Doh,” smiled Heimiller. “Jack on the end. That’s twice.”

Heimiller is still short with approximately 750,000 but he’s also still in so there’s something to be said for that.

Championship Day 3: Shah Eliminates Raghavan

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 26: 20,000/40,000/5,000 Ante

Sean Shah may end up being a villain on the WPT TV broadcast of this event because he is knocking out all the cool kids.

This time his victim was Ravi Raghavan.  Raghavan bet out 90,000 then Shah went over the top for 200,000.  Raghavan went all-in for the last of his stack and Shah called.

Raghavan: AdKs
Shah: 8d8h

The race for Raghavan’s tournament life didn’t last long as Shah hit the 8c on the flop and Raghavan could not catch up. Raghavan exits our championship event in 21st place leaving us only two eliminations until the end of play tonight.

Championship Day 3: Campbell and Vorha Fall

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 26: 20,000/40,000/5,000 Ante

One of Seminole Hard Rock’s top Omaha players and a WPT favorite have both fallen in a matter of mintues here at the WPT Poker Showdown.

Robert Campbell was the first to be eliminated.  Campbell pushed his short stack in and was called by Steven McKoy.  Campbell was sitting on 6d6c but McKoy showed the pocket rockets with AcAs.  McKoy all but shut down the hand on a 7hAh9s flop and the board ran out Jd2d knocking him out in 23rd place.

Raj Vorha was the next to go.  After managing a double-up after a devastating hand, Raj was all-in preflop with his 210,000 chip stack with two callers.  After a Qs7c7h flop, Moshin Charania bet John Thrower out of the hand and showed Vorha he’d hit trips with Ts7s.  Vorha only had Ks5c and was sent to the rail in 22nd.

We’re only three eliminations away from the end of the night here in the championship event with 21 remaining this evening.
