Konstantinos Pantoridis

Just before the blinds went up, (playing 600/1,200/200)  Konstantinos Pantaridis jammed his last 13k utg+1 and the player to his left came over the top to isolate.  Everyone else obliged by getting out of the pot.

Konstantinos rolled over Kd6c and was trailing his opponent’s JsJh.  The board flew out 7 6 2 A A and was no help to Konstantinos.  He busted out of this flight, but plans to try again in Flight B starting at 7pm.

Down to 153 players remaining in this flight which will play through the end of level 15 before bagging up for the night.

Dan Buzgon
Dan Buzgon

Dan Buzgon flopped the nut straight holding J9 and got all his chips in the middle against a player holding pocket Aces.

Then his opponent caught an Ace on the turn for a set, and the board paired on the river giving him a full house.  Dan reported to the rail with plans to hit the beach rather than the next flight starting at 7pm.

Here’s what some of the players are tweeting about:

Event 8: Locals Doing Well

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 8: 300/600/75 ante

A few of local players are doing well after the first break. Angel Vu, who has enough chips to walk around and miss hands, has quietly moved over 80,000. Eric Piderit likes his table as they’ve jumped his 25,000 starting stack over 150,000 by the start of Level 8.

Piderit has a tournament win on his résumé from February during the WPT Lucky Hearts Open at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek.

With the end of Level 6, registration has closed for Flight A with an unofficial 377 entrants showing on the clock. A fine start to the big tournament.

Brian Hastings continues to run up his stack while Angel Vu is also having a nice start to her tournament.

“I got to get away from poker last night.” Vu said. “I’m recharged.”

Event 8: First Break

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 100/200

More than 300 players have register for Flight 1A as they head off on their first break of the day. Two new WSOP bracelet winners are making their first appearance at the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

Brian Hastings is a local professional who won the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship during the 2012 World Series of Poker and Tyler Patterson just arrived in town fresh off his WSOP bracelet win this past summer. Patterson traveled a bit further than Hastings, his commute brought him from the great state of Washington.
