Event 10: 31 Remain

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 12K/24K Ante 3K

We are down to 31 players and Chris Lewis is the current chip leader with 2.2 million in chips. Dan Suied lost a good chunk of his stack recently when Debra Dorcy moved all in for her last 340K with KsQs and he called with AdJs. The board ran out Qc7d2d4s8c giving Dorcy the pot and leading her to say “It’s Ladies Day I guess.”

Over at Ralph Campbell’s table, Ralph and one of the other chip leaders Andres Jara tangled in a pot. Pre-flop Jara and one other player limped in and Campbell made it 75K to go. Only Jara called and we saw a Ah6d4s flop. Campbell bet 100K and Jara called. The turn was the 4c and Campbell led out for 300K this time. Jara took his time contemplating what to do, at one point lifting his cards up off of the table and looking at them. Ralph peeked at his after that act from Jara and eventually pulled out his sunglasses after Jara continued to study him. Andres counted out a call and looked at what his remaining stack would be and decided in the end to lay it down.

Event 10: Over A Million!

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds 10K/20K Ante 2K

“Hey Blogger, you’re going to want to blog this one,” came the yell from Ralph Campbell as he stacked a mountain of chips. It was a big hand and the three hands face up on the table were pocket Kings, pocket Jacks and the fortunate Mr. Campbell who woke up in the small blind with pocket Aces at the most opportune of times. The board ran out 8h3h2h4d2s to give Campbell the double knockout. “Over a million,” he said, a broad smile crossing his face. The player to his left commented “what a dream scenario, two all ins and pick up Aces in the blinds”. The dealer who dealt the hand got up and Ralph joked “thank you, I’ll see you in the alley later.” Not sure why the dealer deserves to get beat up after delivering such a good hand but to each their own I suppose. Campbell is actually over 1.2 million now.

There are 40 players remaining.

Event 10: Chips and Payouts

Event 10: Dinner Break

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

It almost seems unfair when the chipleader pick up premium hands, but it’s the fun part of big stack poker. Both Chris Lewis (Aces) and Andres Jara (Queens) picked up their big hands to drag big pots as the two chase each other up the leaderboard. Dan Suied was the next player to cross the 1,000,000 chip mark as he enjoys his table move to 37.

The remaining 48 players are off on a 40-minute dinner break to refresh and regroup. We will gather more specific chip counts during the extended break in action.

Event 10: Seven Table and Payouts

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

“Not the eights!” yelled Table 41.

That table just saw Zach Goodman crack Aces with Eights and now seat-7 was all-in with KdKd versus 8c8h. No miracle river was necessary the Ad8s5s flop all but locked up the hand. The 3h turn and 9s river made no difference and another player was down.

The field is now down just 63 players remaining in the field as staff break the tournament down to the final seven tables.
