Rock ‘N’ Roll

Event 1: Names Still Here

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 18: Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000 ante

The field quickly dropped by one table when they returned from the break, getting quickly near hand-for-hand action.

Those still in contention include Mukul Pahuja, Tristan Wade, Nancy Birnbaum, Robert Campbell, Derrick Simon, Kevin Spires, Darryll Fish, Elliot Zaydman, and Danielle Howe.

Staff have cleared the tournament area of all but players and staff in anticipation of the money bubble.

Event 5: Six Max Underway

$1,100 Six Max No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
$75,000 Guaranteed

Level 1:  Blinds 25/50

Today’s second new No Limit Hold’em event has a higher price tag than we usually see in preliminary events — $1,100.  It’s also a Six Max, which means tables play six-handed until they reach the final seven.

Players began this two-day event with 12,000 tournament chips and all levels are 60 minutes long.   Late registration and re-entry are available until registration closes at the start of level 5 (about 7:30pm).

They’ll play ten levels today, then bag up for the night.  Day 2 begins at 3pm Monday.

Cards and chips are flying in this short-handed event!

Event 1: Figueroa Doing Fine

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 17:  Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

Players have wrapped up the first three levels and are off on their first break of the day.

Ebrahim Figueroa
Ebrahim Figueroa

One of those enjoying some time away from the felt is Ebrahim Figueroa.  Ebrahim is from Alt de Bucabarones, Puerto Rico.

He’s retired from the Guardia Nacional de Puerto Rico — the Puerto Rico National Guard, which provides soldiers and airmen to the US Army and Air Force as needed in emergencies or at the request of the US President.

Now that he’s retired, Ebrahim has time to travel and play poker.  He’s planning to play all the events he can here at the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ’N’ Roll” Poker Open, including the $2 Million Guaranteed Main Event.

He started Day 2 with over 207k, which put him 22nd out of 412 returning players.  At the first break, his stack is still hovering around that figure.

Event 1: Wolak Busted Early

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 17:  Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

The random seat draw for Day 2 resulted in two WSOP bracelet winners on the same table.  WSOP Ladies Champion Marsha Wolak and WSOP-Europe Shootout Champion Tristan Wade started the  day on table 4.

Unfortunately Marsha had fewer than 12 big blinds to start the day and she has been eliminated.

Event 4: Early Birds

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 2:  Blinds 50/100

Needless to say, this event started with a small group of players, but they’re enthusiastic this early on Sunday.

Told them they could all get their pictures in the blog, so here are their dozen smiling faces, spread across two tables.

Event 4

Once Day 2 of Event 1 gets underway at 1pm, the players busting out of that event should fill this one out nicely with late registrants.

Event 4: Cards Fly for Big Stackers

$250 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 1:  Blinds 25/50

Today’s first new event is a No Limit Hold’em Event and players began with a Big Stack – 15,000 tournament chips.

All levels are 30 minutes long and this is a one day event, so they’ll play as long as it takes to find a winner.

Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 9, about 4:30pm.  Players who bust out may re-enter as many times as they like until registration closes.

Cards are in the air!
