The tournament staff has announced that the 45-minute dinner break will begin after Level 25, around 8:35 pm.

After the next break, blind levels will increase to one hour each for the rest of the tournament, starting with Level 24. When the field gets down to 80 players, action will transition to eight-handed tables for the reset of the tournament.

With about 215 players remaining from a field of 4,017, the average chip stack is around 465,000 (31 big blinds). The remaining players are guaranteed at least $1,560 each.

The last multi-flight tournament before the Showdown Championship gets underway at 4 pm in the Grand Ballroom. Event 36 is a $1,100 Triple Stack No-Limit Hold’em tournament with four starting flights and a big $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players start with 30K out front and the first eight levels last 30 minutes before increasing to 40 in Level 9 and 60 minutes in Level 27. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 8:30 pm.

Play will continue until 12.5% of the field remains and survivors will bag their chips for a Day 2 return on Wednesday at 1 pm.

After a quick 50 minutes of play, tournament players were sent on a ten-minute break to keep to the color up schedule later in the day. They’ll return to play three more levels before the next one.

One dangerous player is making a move to add to his legendary (amateur) status. Raminder Singh began Day 2 of the Mid-Series Showdown in the top 25 with 475,000 and improved to 546,000 in less than an hour.

Showdown Event 35 is a $600 Big Bet Mix Dealer’s Choice game with the available games including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, Pot-Limit Omaha 8, Big O, No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw, Pot-Limit 2-7 Triple Draw, and No-Limit 5-Card Draw.

They’ll start with 30K stacks and all levels last 30 minutes. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 6:30 pm.

Dyanna Lopez opened to 12,000 from middle position and Tyler Montoya called from the hijack. Hector Pacheco three-bet to 35,000 from the button and both Lopez and Montoya called.

The flop was Ac9d4c and all three players checked. The turn was 4d, Lopez and Montoya checked and Pacheco bet 60,000. Lopez folded and Montoya thought for a minute before he called.

The river was Kh, Montoya checked, and Pacheco moved all in with the bigger stack. Montoya thought for several moments, asked Pacheco if they were chopping, didn’t get an answer, and called at risk for 53,000.

Pacheco flipped over QhQs for two pair queens and fours but Montoya tabled AsTs for aces up to take the pot.
