It did not take long to get there this afternoon. Entry number 153 put the field right on the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool and 154 put it over. Every new entry will push the prize pool even higher until registration closes tomorrow at noon when Day 2 kicks off.

Players returned to their seats after the break to continue their path to a title. With the deeper stacks, you would expect there to be some budding chip castles at the first break but we only found one player over 100K.
Lloyd Gunther is the early leader with 113,000 heading into Level 4 but he won’t be the only one up there for very long.

Like Lou Stadler mentioned earlier, Seth Gilson is here today in part due to his deep run in Event 1. He finished fourth in the big opening tournament and he earned his first bullet with his payout.
Right now it looks like this might be the only shot he needs. Gilson picked up a huge pot after an opponent check-raised all in for 23,700 with the board reading

We are cruising along in the poker room this morning and we have one level in the books, just the beginning of the road today with 15 full levels on the schedule.
Lou Stadler is one of the 75 entries so far and even a min-cash would be a good return on investment. He is on a freeroll after he made the final table of Event 1 this weekend. Stadler went on to finish in sixth place and part of his award included a seat in this tournament which he is using this morning.

Today is the last chance for players to hop in the Deeper Stack event, to boost their bankroll in the second biggest buy-in tournament on the schedule.
The first flight of the $560 buy-in tournament drew 147 entries to put the event on the way to topping its $150,000 guaranteed prize pool with one more to go. We had 29 players advance to Day 2 tomorrow and everyone here will be trying to join them.
Players will start out with 40,000 stacks and all Day 1 levels will last 40 minutes long. They will switch up to 60 minutes on Day 2 and transition to 90 later in the tournament. Late registration is available until the start of Day 2 and unlimited re-entries are available during that time. For the eventual champion, we have added a $1,650 Event 4 seat to 1st place.
Cards go in the air at 11am and we will follow all the action.
