High Roller: Ian O’Hara Doubles Thru Ashwin Sarin

Ian O’Hara opened to 55,000 from UTG+1 and Ashwin Sarin three-bet to 130,000. O’Hara put in a fourth bet to 455,000 to get an all-in from Sarin for 717,000.

O’Hara quickly called at risk but holding AcAd against Sarin’s AhKs. It was a tough spot for Sarin but he paired the KdQs5d for a small sweat. O’Hara dodged the bad beat after the Qc turn and 7s river to double up.

High Roller: Mercier Takes the Lead

Big-time Jason Mercier is starting to put a move on the High Roller event and now owns the chip lead.

The hand that sent him up top started with him min-raising from UTG+1 and Sands called in middle position to the AdQc6d flop. Mericer led out for 42,000 and Sands called again before the Ts turn.

Mercier fired another 117,000 and it received another call from Sands to the 9d river which they both checked. Mercier tabled top two AhQs to take the big pot.

David Peters didn’t have much to begin the day and he never made a move forward today. He tried to get back in the game when he shoved from the high jack for 255,000 and Mercier moved all-in over the top from the small blind to isolate.

Sands let his hand go and Mercier tabled AhQh against Peters’ Qc9c. Peters was dominated and missed as the board ran out KsJs4d7c5d to leave the High Roller in 9th place for $57,500.

David Sands and David Peters are the two short stacks at the High Roller tables with Sands moving up.

He has Peters in trouble now after a hand that had Sands opened to 44,000 from middle position and Peters called in the big blind to the 9h3d2s flop. Peters check called a 34,000 bet from Sands and they both checked the 7h turn.

Peters led for 88,000 after the Ks river and Sands called with Ace-high AsJh. The hand was good against Peters’ Queen-high QdJc for a big hand.
