The tournament information board clicked to 500 entrants just a few minutes into Level 3. A great turnout for Flight 1E will most of three levels remaining to late register or re-enter should you dust off your stack.

It’s looking like a big day in the ballroom with 1E as the entrant count passed the 400 player mark at the mid-point of Level 2. Some familiar faces are starting to take their seats including Matt Affleck, Peter Striano, and Trischelle Cannatella.
Two regulars at the series had a heated discussion shortly after the start of play. Zach “Redlocks” Kessler and Bob “Uncle Krunk” Panitch were having words before the situation was calmed by tournament staff. They are seated at separate tables but still within ear-shot of each other.

Saturday morning is a fine time to play some poker. It’s also the final day for players to enter the $560 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed, Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em tournament. Event 8 of the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open has already pulled in 1,492 entrants during the first four flights and there are two more running on this final day.
Everyone will be chasing Jordan Cutter as the current overall leader when he complete Flight 1C with 491,000. The chipleader at the end of each flight also earns a nice $1,000 bonus for the feat.
Players will sit down behind 25,000 stacks and play 30-minute levels. Players who manage to work their way through 15 full levels will bag up their chips and join the previous 284 moving onto Day 2. Late registration and unlimited re-entry is available until the start of Level 7. After registration closes, the final last chance to get in the game kicks off at 7pm with Flight 1F.
The daily reading of the tournament rules is complete and cards are in the air.

With ten minutes remaining on the clock, they paused the countdown and instructed all tables to play three more hands. When those hands were completed, the players who still had chips bagged them up for the night. They’ll return for Day 2 Sunday at 1pm.
Jose Galvez (Miami Lakes, FL) bagged the most with 382,500. The semi-professional poker player will collect the $1,000 chip leader bonus.
Dipak Chaudhari was his closest competitor with 360,000. Riley Fuller was third with 348,500 and Robert Bourkney was the only other player over 300k, bagging 329,500.
A full list of chip counts for Flight D will be posted in the blog when available.

Just saw 2010 November Niner John Dolan exit the tournament area. Apparently he came up short and will not be bagging chips tonight, but should be back tomorrow for another try.
His 6th place finish in the 2010 WSOP Main Event was good for a mere $1.77 million. He’s not a one-hit wonder, however, as he has over $3.25 million in reported tournament earnings.

Level 12: Blinds 800/1,600/200 ante
Just before the end of level 11, Greg ‘Fossilman’ Raymer’s stack was crippled when his pocket 8s lost a flip against AQ. A few hands later, he shoved his short-stack with KJ and Tom Alcorn (Bethlehem, GA) came over the top to isolate.
Tom ended up making a straight with his 8, even though he was ahead the whole way with A8. Greg was busted, but took the time to sign a personalized fossil memento and present it to Tom before leaving.
Tom chipped up to ~125k and is enjoying a new card protector, too. Greg will be firing bullet #3 on Saturday.
