Before the blinds went up, on the river with a board showing Td8s2s3cQd, Tyler Patterson (utg) fired 25k, leaving himself with only 20k behind.

Glen Cressman tanked for a minute, saying “I don’t know what to do here”.   He counted out his chips a couple of times and eventually called, leaving himself only about 18k behind.

Tyler rolled over KhKd and Glen mucked.  The WSOP bracelet winner chipped up to about 123k with that pot.

“What would you have done if I shoved there?” asked Glen.  Tyler shook his head and said, “I don’t know, man.”

Glen finished 6th in the $500k Guaranteed opening event just a few days go, earning $35,831.

Event 8: Walking the Field

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 50/100

Players continue to enter Flight 1D at a steady pace and the entrant number is closing in on 300 midway through the second level. I stroll through the field found Matt Affleck back for another go after losing another buy-in earlier today, Bob “Uncle Krunk” Panitch, and 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer.

Event 8: Bagged & Tagged

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Day 1C Level 15: 1500/3K/500 Ante

Day 1C of Event 8 has now come to a close, and the chip leader is Jordan Cutter (Las Vegas, NV) who takes home the $1,000 for ending Day 1 as chip leader with 491K. Second in chips is Ricardo Rodriguez (Tampa, FL), who ends the night with 442K.

Some other notables from Day 1C who made it to Day 2 are: Angel Vu, Marshal Wolak, Michael Beasley, Joe Kuteher, and Kevin Spires.

We’ll have the complete posting of remaining chip stacks later on tonight, and new seat assignments will be posted Sunday morning. Day 2 will commence on Sunday at 1pm.

Event 8: Coming Up Aces

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Day 1C Level 15: 1500/3K/500 Ante

On a flop of 4hAhJs, David Yun (Orlando, FL) bets 30k. The player on the button tanks for a bit before shoving his remaining 53K into the middle. Jordan Cutter (Las Vegas, NV) then re-shoves his 160K stack from the big blind. Yun goes into the tank for a while before deciding to make the call.

Yun: JhKh
Cutter: AdQd
Player on Button: 10hQh

The rest of the board runs out clean for Cutter as his pair of Aces hold up and he rakes in the massive pot. He also knocks out Yun on the following hand, bringing his stack up to 491K…making him the clear chip leader of Day 1C.

Event 8: The Big Boys

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Day 1C Level 15: 1500/3K/500 Ante

We’re on our last level of play now (Level 15) in Day 1C, as the Day 1D flight of play has just begun (Level 1).

After browsing around the room, it appears the unofficial chip leader in Day 1C is Ricardo Rodriguez (Tampa, FL) who is sitting on around 440K in chips. David Yun (Orlando, FL) also gets an honorable mention as one of the big stacks at around 275K.

Event 8: Flight 1D Aloft

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50

The final Friday flight is underway in the ballroom looking to add to the already sizable Event 8 field. The tournament has drawn 1,066 players over the first three flights and tonight’s might be the biggest so far.

Event 8 is a $560 buy-in Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em tournament which will run for six starting flights over three days with a huge $1,000,000 guaranteed prizepool. Starting days will run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with the entire field merging on Sunday to play down to a champion.

Starting stacks are 500 big blinds deep and they will play those 25,000 chips in 30-minute levels through Level 15. Late registration/re-entry is available until the start of Level 7 and the registration desk will be busy all day. Anyone bagging chips at the end of the flight will return at 1pm on Sunday.

Tournament staff completed player instructions and we are off and running.

Event 8: Chasing Hearts

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Day 1C Level 14: 1200/2400/400 Ante

Five players see a flop of AhQhAd. All 5 players check. 3s comes on the turn and the player in the big blind fires out 7K. All players fold except for David Shmuel (Miami, FL) who calls from the button. The river is the Js and both players check.

Shmuel turns over Jh7h for the missed flush draw, but he rivers a pair of Jacks. His fish hooks are good enough to take the pot after the other player mucks his cards. Shmuel sits on around 100K in chips.
