Scott Sanders
Action started with Niovel Chirino Alvarez folding the button. Gil Aboodi was in the small blind and raised to 460,000. Next up was Scott Sanders in the big blind. He promptly shoved for what he estimated to be about 2,700,000. Aboodi called and Sanders was at risk.
Aboodi: Sanders:
Runout:
Sanders stood when the flop fell two spades giving Aboodi outs to the nut flush, too. The turn and river were not game changers and Sanders was second best. He busted in third place earning $62,255.

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood events draw entries from all over the globe. Florida locals, though, don’t have to drive far. As the series gets rolling, players are coming from all parts of the state and today’s Monster Stack features a strong contingency from the Tampa area.
Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah, Marie Harrell, Joey Alegria and Herbert Woodbery are among those to
2016 SHRPO heads-up champion and eight-time Circuit gold ring winner Ari Engel
The entry count recently grew up over the 200 threshold and we spotted one of the Circuit’s most decorated players in the action, Ari Engel.
Engel claimed a prestigious title here in Hollywood during the August 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open winning the $1,650 heads-up tournament. The Canadian pro owns a slew of other titles including eight Circuit gold rings and more than $560,000 in earnings on the tour.
While South Florida is familiar territory to the traveling grinder, this series marks the first time he’s able to add to his Circuit legend at the Seminole Hard Rock.

The Monster Stack is living up to expectations. After kicking off with about 90 players, the field nearly doubled over the first 30 minutes of play as it’s fast approaching 180 entries. The large turnout has filled up a portion of the main ballrooms here at the Seminole Hard Rock, and the meeting rooms across the hall are now in play as well.
The Monster Stack features 20,000-chip starting stacks
It’s 11am here in South Florida and one of the World Series of Poker Circuit’s most popular events is underway — the Monster Stack. With 20,000-chip starting stacks, players get lots of value in the unique $365 buy-in tournament. They’ll play 30-minute levels for the majority of today with the later levels jumping to 45 minutes.
2017 Seminole Hard Rock WSOP Circuit Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida Event 2 $365 No Limit Hold’em Turbo (Re-Entry) $50,000 Guaranteed Entries: 295 Prize Pool: $88,500 September 24, 2017
WSOP Circuit Event 2 champion Ron Levy
The second event on the Seminole Hard Rock WSOP Circuit schedule was a fast-moving affair that was designed to keep things moving. The $365 Turbo No Limit Hold’em tournament attracted a big field to close out the first weekend of the series and South Florida’s Ron Levy was the last player standing to collect a WSOP Circuit ring along with more than $20,000 for the title.
The event was structured and scheduled so that players missing out on Day 2 of the massive opening event had an opportunity for some action in a tournament that would finish in one day. The turnout was great and a total of 295 entries were in the game when registration closed.
They combined to create a prize pool worth $88,500 with the last 30 players earning some money. They took a dinner break at the midpoint of the tournament and then quickly played down to the money bubble after their return. It took a few hands to get there, but the final 30 players were guaranteed some money in the early evening.
There were some notable players making it into the money including SHRP regulars AJ “Doc” Santos and Alexander Dvorsky along with former SHRP champions Matthew Silva and Sagi Zommer.
Christopher Perkins had the unique accomplishment of cashing in two different tournaments on the same day. He finished in 76th place in Event 1 for $1,741 then hopped into the Event 2 field and took 20th place for another $913.
Spencer Champlin has been on a nice roll and picked up his ninth cash since going deep in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Big 4 $1,100 event. He made it to the ten-handed final table but tenth was as far as he could make it.
Seminole Hard Rock Tampa regular Anthony Dianaty dropped out in ninth place and they followed him out at a steady pace. The tournament only slowed when Levy went heads up with Ariel Rosello for the title.
Rosello began the heads up match with a lead but Levy moved into a dead heat after his outflopped . The two went to battle and it was Levy coming away with the title after a 30-minute battle.
It was another close call for Rosello. This was his ninth SHRP final table appearance and his closest call since finishing third in 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Event 25.
For his part, Levy worked his way through a tough field in a structure built to create action. The retired accountant won a title back in 2011 but now he is in the unique club of those who own WSOP Circuit jewelry. Levy earned $21,238 for the title along with the WSOP Circuit ring and custom-framed winner’s photo from IMPDI.
Final table results: 1st: Ron Levy – $21,238 2nd: Ariel Rosello – $13,126 3rd: Robert Appel – $9,524 4th: Benjamin McMurray – $7,027 5th: Jesse Wilensky – $5,270 6th: Ami Neeman – $4,016 7th: David Juden – $3,108 8th: Jack Basinger – $2,443 9th: Anthony Dianaty – $1,949 10th: Spencer Champlin – $1,578
