A difficult last two levels for Nick Marsico came a tough finish as he gone down to Tim Fiorvanti in this round of Limit Hold ‘Em.

Marsico threw his last 44,000 chips in the middle calling Fiorvanti’s bet.  Marsico turned over JhTs and Fiorvanti showed 6d6c.

With a board of Kd9hKhAc after the turn, Marsico was hoping to hit a pair or the straight to hang on but the 8c came on the river ending his hopes and tournament.

When the cards were turned up, Fiorvanti showed jacks and sixes with Fleck only queen high.  Fiorvanti improved to jacks and tens and Fleck got no help knocking her out of the tournament.

$250 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)
Level 19: 5,000/10,000

It’s been a tight race as the chips have been moving all around the table.  After being all-in and one card from elimination just a short time ago, Tim Fiorvanti now holds a mere 11,000 chip edge over Bruce MacGregor who is looking for his third Seminole Hard Rock-Hollywood title in one year’s time.

Here are the chip counts for the remaining five players:

Tim Fiorvanti – 239,000
Bruce MacGregor – 228,000
Gerald Mitchell – 177,000
Nick Marsico – 125,000
Kathy Fleck – 51,000

Event 4: Marmelstein Defeats Rodriguez for Title

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 22: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

Alain Rodriguez fought a valiant battle against Aaron Mermelstein but the former WPT champ’s lead was just too big.

Mermelstein extended the advantage to 9-to-1 when Rodriguez made a move with Jc8c and Mermelstein called to put him at risk with KdTd. Rodriguez had two live cards but most of his hope was dashed on the KsKc3h flop.

Rodriguez was drawing dead on the 9d turn and left him with a runner-up finish for $16,910 while Mermelstein is our latest Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open champion for $31,150.

$250 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry)
Level 17: 3,000/6,000
Game: Omaha 8

It’s getting to be a broken record here on our final table as Gerald Mitchell has picked off another short stack giving him his 4th elimination of the final table.

After losing most of his chips to Tim Fiorvanti on the previous hand, Milchman put his last 11,000 in blind against Mitchell in this Omaha 8 rotation.

Milchman: Ad7dJdQd
Mitchell: Ts2sKc4c

Unfortunately for Milchman, the flop came out all black with 7sJs8s then ran out 8d3d giving Mitchell the scoop and taking the field down to five players.  But despite the elimination, Tim Fiorvanti still is holding strong as the chip leader in Event 6.

Zack Milchman finishes in 6th place for $1,021.

Level 22: 5,000/10,000/1,000 Ante

Daniel Buzgon and Alain Rodriguez had a lot of work to get done in order to catch Aaron Mermelstein and they traded turns taking a stab.

Buzgon was the first to get a call and was racing with his Ah9h against Mermelstein’s 7s7c. The KcTs5h flop kept Mermestein in the lead but Buzgon added a gutshot on the Qs turn.

The Ks river was not what he needed and Buzgon was sent out in 3rd place for $10,680.

Gerald Mitchell has claimed his second victim at this final table and this time did it with a bigger hand than trip aces.

Mitchell: Ah6h4h7h5h
Cleven: Qd4d5dJdAs

Cleven still had outs to both the high and low. His chances on the low improved as he got the 3c but he couldn’t catch a diamond and just missed the low with the 8c giving Cleven the scoop and the elimination.
