With 273 players remaining, the average stack is 154,000 (39 bb) with blinds at 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante.

After three starting flights of the WPTDeepStacks Hollywood event, it’s time to bring the survivors back for Day 2 at noon in the Seminole Ballroom to begin playing down. The tournament drew 1,404 entries, 273 still have chips after 15 levels, and they all have eyes on the $225,717 top prize.

Howard Mash held the chip lead after the first two flights but Steve Wilkie cruised past him in the third. His 615,000 is best to start Day 2 with Gil Nagar, Alexander Salcedo, Mash, and Paul Grigsby rounding out the top five.

The last 176 players will make the money and the bubble should burst before the first break. Their day will continue into the evening and they will halt play once they reach the final table nine. Those nine players will return tomorrow to play it out for the WPTDeepStacks title at 2 pm on the WPT live-stream stage.

Cards go back in the air at noon and we will have all the action.

After a flop of , the player in the small blind got it all in with for a diamond flush draw, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the of Vadim Rozin in late position.

The turn card was the , giving the small blind additional outs with a pair of jacks, but the river card was the . The pocket kings held up for Rozin to win the pot and eliminate his opponent from the tournament.

Steve Wilkie vs Raminder Singh — Raminder Singh (right) tanks for a while after Steve Wilkie (left) bet about half of Singh’s remaining stack on the turn.

With the board showing on the turn and about 140K already in the pot, Raminder Singh thought for a while before he checked from the small blind, and then Steve Wilkie bet 70,000 from the hijack.

Singh went into the tank for with about 145K behind, at one point saying, “I’m not going to just call you. I only have two choices,” implying that he would either shove or fold.

After a couple of minutes, Singh apologized to the table for tanking so long, and told them that they could call for a clock with no hard feelings, but nobody did.

Shortly after that, Singh folded, and Wilkie showed 10s for a turned jack-high straight as he took the pot, which put him up near 500K.

A player raised under the gun to 3,800, Joshua Poe reraised from middle position to 12,000, and Steve Karp cold four-bet from the cutoff to about 25,000.

The original raiser folded, and Poe five-bet all in for about 48,000.

Karp snap-called with , and Poe was visibly tilted as he turned over . Poe needed to improve to stay alive.

The board came 10d , and the pocket aces held up for Karp to win the pot and eliminate Poe from the tournament.
