Event 1: Flight B Chip Leaders

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

End of Level 15:  1,500/3,000/500 ante

Hany Ayoub - Flight B Chip Leader
Hany Ayoub – Flight B Chip Leader

On the last hand of the night, Michael Jagroo shipped a 55k double-up across the felt, dropping his stack to 269k.

If he had won that pot, he would have won the chip lead bonus.  Folding that hand would not have helped, however, because Hany Ayoub bagged 356,500 to claim the $500 bonus as the Flight B Chip Leader.

Zack Goodman just missed out on the bonus, bagging 354,500, just 2,000 fewer than Ayoub.

The chip counts are being recorded and once the list is available, it will be posted here in the blog

Event 1: Late Double-Up For Carwash

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 15:  1,500/2,500/500 ante

After a limp and a raise, Robert ‘Carwash’ Williams called from the cutoff, only to have the small blind in seat 8 shove for ~85k.  The limper and raiser folded, then Carwash shoved his last 38,500 into the pot.

Seat 8: [7s7h]

Carwash: [6d3d]

Board: 8s2d2s5d9d

Carwash back-doored a flush to come from behind and more than double up.  He chipped up to about 110k.

The last few hands are playing out now and then they will bag & tag the chips for the night.

Event 1: Chip Leaders

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 15:  1,500/3,000/500 ante

Players are back in action following a short color-up break to take the black 100 chips out of play.

Michael Jagroo

Michael Jagroo (above) is still the chip leader.  He’s up to ~375k.

Hany Ayoub’s got 315k as they start the last level of the night.

Carlos Arabitg

Carlos Arabitg (pictured above) is close behind with ~300k.

Anything can happen during this final level, so that $500 chip leader bonus is still up for grabs.

Event 1: Navin Busts Vu

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 14:  1,200/2,400/400 ante

Frank Navin
Frank Navin

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year point leader Angel Vu got all-in on the river with the board showing Th3d2h7h8d.  Unfortunately for Angel, Frank Navin (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) held 6h5h for the turned flush.

Angel mucked her hand and headed out.  Frank, a self-professed “PLO degenerate,” chipped up to about 220k.

We’ll be seeing a lot more of Angel during this series since she’s chasing points to try to stay atop the POY leaderboard.  At the end of this series, the POY will receive a prize package valued at over $30,000 that features entries and casino-based incentives for Seminole Hard Rock Poker’s most prestigious poker events throughout the following year including:

  • $3,500 entry into Seminole Hard Rock N Roll Poker Open Championship (Nov 2014)
  • $3,500 entry into Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship (Feb 2015)
  • $3,500 entry into Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship (Apr 2015)
  • $5,300 entry into Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship (Aug 2015)
  • $10,000 cash for entry into Main Event
  • Wild Card Elite status for following year along with additional benefits (including preferred access to hotel accommodations, dining and entertainment)

Event 1: Ayoub Takes Lead

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 12:  800/1,600/200 ante

During the previous level:

Three players check the turn with a board showing Kh7s5s9c.  The dealer delivers the Qs on the river, making a flush possible.  Seat 4 checked, seat 6 checked, then Hany Ayoub (cutoff) fired 12k.

Hany Ayoub

After some thought, seat 4 called and seat 6 folded.  “You got the flush?” asked seat 4.  “No,” replied Ayoub, as he rolled over 9s9h for a set.  Seat 4 mucked and the Miami businessman raked the pot.

He’s now up to ~200k and leading Flight B with four levels left to play.

The chip leader at the end of each starting flight earns a $500 bonus, so this is when the battle for the bonus begins in earnest.

Phil Weast (Tampa, FL) fired two bullets today, but came up empty.  He chronicled his journey on Twitter:

Event 1: Rodriguez Sinks Two On River

$350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 10:  500/1,000/100 ante

Before the blinds went up:

With a flop of 8x6x5x, two short stacks got all their chips in the  middle against Christian Rodriguez (Boynton Beach, FL).

Christian Rodriguez

The player in seat 9 held pocket Jacks, the lady in seat 7 had pocket 9s, and Christian had them both beat with pocket 5s for set.

That all changed with the 7x on the turn, which gave the lady a straight.   Then another 8x came on the river, giving Christian a full boat and sending both opponents packing.

With that pot, Christian chipped up to about 85k.
